A video of actress Saoirse Ronan stunning a group of male celebs did the rounds back in October, and Paul Mescal has finally spoken out about the incident.
Saoirse Ronan was praised for her response while on The Graham Norton Show a couple weeks ago and saw a bunch of support on social media.
She was joined on host Graham Norton's famous couch by Paul Mescal, Eddie Redmayne and Denzel Washington, who is also starring alongside Mescal in the upcoming Gladiator film.
Speaking about the preparation for his latest role in the series, The Day of the Jackal, Redmayne explained to the rest of the couch how he was taught how to use his mobile phone as a weapon.
He noted, that rather than whipping it out to dial 999, he was shown how to use the physical phone to do some damage by whacking it against someone's throat.
Mescal then joked: "Who's actually going to think about that though? If someone attacked me I'm not going to go, 'Phone.'"
But this joke from Mescal seemed to rub the actress the wrong way and she decided to speak out about it.
After being able to seemingly get a word in, Ronan said: "That's what girls have to think about all the time. Am I right ladies?"

Her response was then followed by applause from the crowd.
On social media many praised and agreed with the actress and in a new interview on The Late Late Show with host Patrick Kielty, Mescal weighed in on the situation, adding to the praise for Ronan.
When asked if he was surprised by the comment he responded: “I don’t think we were surprised, you are on a talk show like this and you are kind of just talking.
“But I am not surprised that the message received as much attention that it got because it is massively important.
“I am sure you have had Saoirse on the show and she is more often than not the most intelligent person in the room.

“I just think she was spot on, hit the nail on the head.”
On Twitter, many praised Ronan for speaking out and bringing attention to the issue.
One user wrote: "Me liking every single tweet of saoirse ronan gagging the men at the graham norton show."
Another said: "Love the immediate concession from the guys, lmao, she gottem."
While another joked: "There’s still time, you can still go as Saoirse Ronan silencing Paul Mescal, Denzel Washington and Eddie Redmayne on the Graham Norton Show couch for Halloween."
