Paulina Porizkova isn’t fussed about gaining some weight.
The 59-year-old model shared in a recent Instagram post that she was surprised to discover she had packed on 15 pounds since undergoing hip replacement surgery last year.
“The funny thing is, I was so happy with my life ; the end of chronic pain, building a life with my love, traveling with friends and working on new writing projects – that I had no idea I had gained all this weight,” she captioned a carousel of photos of herself in swimsuits during jaunts to Jamaica and Iceland with her boyfriend, Jeff Greenstein.
Porizkova explained that it was only when she “went to Paris for [her] first modeling job of the year” that she realized her extra poundage.
“One day back at my old job, and I was excruciatingly aware of every extra pound,” she wrote. “I didn’t fit the clothes. Which of course WAS and IS my job. To fit the clothes!”
The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit alum managed to squeeze into “the largest of the items” by “leaving seams open, waistbands unbuttoned” and praying that her “ability to fake it was still in place,” though she admittedly “felt awful” about herself.

Porizkova was determined to shed the weight but then hit a “post menopause bump.”
“Didn’t matter how little I ate, the weight didn’t fluctuate,” she told her followers.
The “No Filter” author added weight-lifting to her workout routine, upped her protein intake and ditched desserts, but nothing helped.
“Two months later, I’m exactly the same weight,” she shared. “My butt feels firmer, but otherwise- most of my clothing is too small, a good indication I haven’t shrunk.”
However, Porizkova is not unhappy with her “new, fuller body.”
“Compared to a year ago when I was 15 lbs less but in constant pain, my new softness feels soothing,” she wrote.
The Czech-born stunner added that Greenstein has also helped her appreciate her figure, jokingly noting that now her “only problems are no jobs and nothing to wear.”
Porizkova underwent a double hip replacement in January 2024.
She suffered from congenital hip dysplasia, which occurs when the hip socket “doesn’t fully cover the ball portion of the upper thighbone” — potentially leading to osteoarthritis or a hip labral tear, per the Mayo Clinic.
