PFL (Professional Fighters League) lightweight contender Zafar Mohsen made his debut with the organization at PFL Super Fights: Battle of the Giants - Ngannou vs. Ferreira. Mohsen defeated Husein Kadimagomaev by unanimous decision on Oct. 19, which has now been overturned into a no contest.

According to a report from MMAjunkie.com, "MMA Junkie confirmed Monday with Mohegan Tribe Department of Athletic Regulation chief Mike Mazzulli that Mohsen submitted a fight night drug test for PFL: Battle of the Giants in October that was flagged as positive in the days that followed. The Mohegan Tribe commission regulated the Oct. 19 event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia."
To make matters worse, Mohsen has also been suspended for a year and has been fined an undisclosed amount due to the failed drug test.
Both Mohsen and Kadimagomaev made their promotional debut with PFL at the event, and both are still listed on the website. There is no telling if either will continue with the promotion past the fight.
Mohsen has been in the fight game since 2015 when he made his professional debut at AFC 2: Afghanistan Fighting Championship 2. He defeated Mohammad Sabor Bayat by armbar submission in the first round.
Following back-to-back wins with the Afghanistan Fighting Championship, Mohsen moved to the Magdeburger Cage 1: MMA & Caged Muay Thai event, where he lost by a first-round armbar submission to Gerson da Silva Carvalho.
Mohsen has worked his way through the MMA world, appearing with promotions such as Power FC, GGP (German Cage Pioneer), and the NFC (National Fighting Championship).
After securing a 14-4 record, which includes 7-2 TKO/KOs, and 4-1 on submission victories, Mohsen was set to make some noise with PFL.
Mohsen looked solid and technical in his bout with Kadimagomaev, rifling off big shots and getting some nice takedowns.
Mohsen ended the fight with a judges scorecard of 30-27. He appeared to be the aggressor through all three rounds, while Kadimagomaev did not quite gain any ground.
Mohsen secured 85 total strikes landed and a 55 percent striking accuracy rate to Kadimagomaev's 62 total strikes and 40 percent string accuracy. Mohsen was also excellent in terms of his takedown defense, stuffing Kadimagomaev on all but one of his five attempts.
Time will tell if the PFL decides to cut or move on from Mohsen considering this was his promotional debut and he has already failed a drug test. For now, he remains on the roster page for the promotion.
