Madison LeCroy is expecting her second child, the first for her husband, Brett Randle.
Just over two years after the 34-year-old Southern Charm star tied the knot with her hubby in Mexico, the couple has confirmed their baby news, with Madison admitting that her pregnancy came as an exciting surprise.
“Honestly, when Brett and I were making this plan of growing our family, I was like, ‘Okay, we’ve got to make this as easy as possible,’ ” she shares. “So I actually started using the Clearblue ovulation test, and I got a smiley face. Once we got the smiley face, we were like, ‘Okay, it’s go time,’ and it instantly happened,” Madison revealed to PEOPLE on February 6.
“I was shocked, I thought I had all summer long, but it happened and I felt actually pretty great other than some minor headaches,” she continued. “But other than that, just eating all the food and enjoying myself.”
Madison and Brett’s first child together will join the reality star’s oldest child, Hudson, 12, who she shares with her ex-husband, Josh Hughes.
On Instagram, after partnering with Clearblue, Madison shared a photo of herself with her positive pregnancy test.
“And just like that… our world is changing in the most magical way! Seeing ‘Pregnant’ on this [ClearBlue] test was the best moment of our lives. We can’t wait to meet you, little one!’ she declared.
Following the death of her dad in 2023 and Brett’s thyroid cancer diagnosis shortly thereafter, Madison said her baby news was “super exciting.”
“I honestly was pinching myself because I hadn’t heard good news in it felt like the last two years, so to hear something that was so positive and something that we’ve been wanting and looking forward to was just super exciting,” she explained. “And of course, everybody in our family and everybody was rooting for us.”
“I’m ecstatic. I just can’t get enough. I’m so glad to finally be able to talk about it,” she went on. “I’ve been in hiding for too long, and so I’m excited to be able to show the bump off.”
According to Madison, Hudson, her “best friend,” was the first person she told.
“He was excited. Obviously, at first he’s like, ‘Eh.’ And then we recently got a puppy, so he goes, ‘Actually I really love caring, so might as well.’ I was like, ‘Okay. This is going to be way different, but okay,'” she recalled.
As for her pregnancy, Madison said her second is much different from her first.
“It’s the total opposite than what I experienced at 22 years old,” she shared. “I had the glowing skin and I had all that, and this is the opposite. I’m exhausted, full-blown adult acne, and didn’t lose any weight at the beginning, versus [with] Hudson, I was starting off in a negative.”
As she navigates her body’s changes, Madison said she’ll be doing her best to give it what it needs.
“I’m just going to listen to my body and do whatever I feel like is best for us,” she stated. “So if that’s subs and maybe occasional fried sushi, I’m going to do it.”
Also during her interview with PEOPLE, Madison admitted she’s already been considering a couple of baby names.
“With my dad just recently passing, I’m definitely saving his name,” she revealed. “And then possibly my grandmother, so his mother’s name.”
Madison went on to say that she’s “not the best pregnant person” and looking forward to the “after-the-fact.”
“I’m not worried about sleepless nights, but I’m definitely a type B person. I don’t need to look at the hospital, I don’t need the tour, I’m just going to wing it, and tell me less and I’ll just figure it out,” she explained.
Southern Charm season 10 airs Thursdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
