GMB: Piers Morgan walks off after clash with Alex Beresford

Piers Morgan is leaving News UK.

The controversial presenter is making a colossal leap in his career by waving goodbye to Rupert Murdoch's media empire. The telly legend, who previously presented Good Morning Britain, is zooming over to focus on his US-based Uncensored YouTube channel.

Sky News has reported that Piers has inked a juicy four-year profit-sharing agreement with News UK, the powerhouse behind The Sun and The Times, taking control of the Uncensored brand in the process. This deal means Piers entices a hefty 3.6million-strong YouTube audience, while Murdoch will pocket a share of the advert money rolling in from Piers Morgan Uncensored until the end of 2029.

Piers Morgan spoke his latest career move, telling fans "some personal news" as he posted on social media that he's ditching his TalkTV show for YouTube, reports the Mirror.

He also explained: "I find myself thinking, 'I wish we weren't just doing a TV show here, because if we weren't I would do this for two hours. That's what the YouTube crowd love," he dished. A move to YouTube means Ofcom restraints, but the presenter swears that is not the reason he's jumping ship to digital.

"Despite being allegedly so controversial, I've never had an Ofcom ruling against me," he boasted. Piers' previous presenting gig on Good Morning Britain ended with the host storming off set back in 2022.

After a tiff with co-presenter Alex Beresford about Meghan Markle, during which Beresford called him out for relentlessly digging at the Duchess of Sussex, Morgan walked off the ITV set .

An Ofcom probe was sparked by over 41,000 complaints regarding Piers Morgan's remarks on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's Oprah Winfrey interview during his appearance on Good Morning Britain.

In a statement at the time, ITV announced: "Following discussions with ITV, Piers Morgan has decided now is the time to leave Good Morning Britain. ITV has accepted this decision and has nothing further to add."
