She proceeded to detail the Primark perfumes alongside their pricier equivalents and their costs. Debbie pointed out some notable bargains: "Primark’s Taboo is £3 and is supposed to smell just like Maison Francis Kurkdjian’s Baccarat Rouge 540 £245.
"One of the favourites is Primarks’s Good Chica £3 clearly inspired by Carolina Herrera’s Good Girl perfume £124. Primark’s Fresh £3 is rumoured to be just like Chanel’s Chance Eau Fraiche £145.
"Primark’s Red Flambe £3 is supposed to smell like Tom Ford’s Lost Cherry fragrance £386. Primark Free perfume for £3 smells like YSL Libre £97. And Primark PS Wild Azalea (in this £2.50 size) is supposed to smell like Victor & Rolf Flowerbomb £130."
The post racked up thousands of likes and a number of comments from excited shoppers. Among them, one person said: "Love red flambé and taboo."
A second wrote: "Such good value", while a third tagged a friend and commented: "ooo we need a trip to Primark." A fourth said: "I’m definitely trying these - thank you!"
Another shopper added: "Libre is my go to for years, I use the Primark free at work and I reckon I get more comments on it that the actual perfume!" A sixth wrote: "I'm on my fifth bottle of Fresh! Love it, but didn't realise it's [an alternative]."
By snapping up the Primark alternatives, shoppers could save themselves hundreds of pounds. For YSL fans, the high street retailer could save you around £94, while Tom Ford lovers could save roughly £383. Fans of Baccarat Rouge 540 could save themselves around £242 by opting for Primark's fragrance.
