Prince George may be Britain's tallest ever King for two reasons

2 days ago 9

The late Queen Elizabeth, known for her vibrant outfits and sharp wit, was not particularly tall.

Standing at a modest 5ft 3, she was often towered over by family members and acquaintances, especially by her grandson, the Prince of Wales, who at 6ft 3 inches is currently the tallest member of the Royal Family.

However, the late Queen wasn't the shortest British monarch - that title goes to her great-great-grandmother Queen Victoria, who measured just 4ft 9 inches in height and was wider than she was tall in her later years.

Meanwhile, Prince William, the tallest royal, seems to have passed on his impressive height to his three children, OK! reports.

Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six, are frequently seen in public, with fans always quick to remark on their growth. Following their appearances at several events in 2022, including the late Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations, royal enthusiasts were taken aback by Prince George's height.

One fan speculated: "I bet Prince George is going to be at least 6'6" tall!" Another added: "Prince George is getting so grown up and tall, so like his father in every way, looks and stature and William was so like his beautiful mother, Princess Diana".

Social media users have been remarking on Princess Charlotte's stature, with one user noting: "He will be very tall I think - and his sister too. The little [Waleses] won the genetic lottery."

Their mother, Kate Middleton is also quite tall at 5ft 9 – five inches above the average British woman’s height. Prince George already seems set to be a tall man, but could he become the tallest monarch in British history?

11-year-old George takes after his father Prince William when it comes to his tall height

Edward IV holds the record as the tallest king at 6ft 4 1⁄2, a title that Prince William is unlikely to claim, though George might well do so.

Research from the Keck School of Medicine in California suggests boys often outgrow both parents. The theory adds five inches to the mother’s height, combines this with the father's height, then divides the sum by two.

Using this method, with Kate's height of 69 inches plus five, then added to William's 75 inches and divided by two, predicts that Prince George could reach 6ft 2.

If this turns out to be accurate, Prince George could become one of Britain's tallest monarchs. However, if he takes after his father and grows significantly taller than both his parents, George might even surpass the record currently held by Edward IV.
