The Los Angeles Rams have been without their top two playmakers on offense for weeks. Star wide receivers Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua have been missing in action with separate injuries.

Kupp has been missing since Week 2 when he suffered an ankle injury that has kept him out for several games. Nacua has also been out since Week 1 when he suffered a knee injury that sidelined him for multiple weeks as well. The good news is Kupp was a full practice participant on Monday, meaning he is likely to suit up on Thursday Night Football.

Now, to add to the good news, the Rams have offered a huge update on Nacua.

The Rams have opened WR Puka Nacua’s 21-day practice window, the team announced.

Nacua was one of the brightest stars on the Rams in 2023. As a rookie, he set NFL records in receptions and yards with 105 receptions and 1,486 yards. He also logged six touchdowns, en route to his being a Pro Bowler and a Second-Team All-Pro.

There were high hopes for Nacua heading into 2024, but he suffered a knee injury in training camp that kept him sidelined for weeks. It was revealed that Nacua burst a bursa sac in his right knee, keeping him out of training until Week 1.

Nacua was slated to suit up for Week 1, which he did. However, he would exit the game in the second quarter after logging 35 yards receiving and seven yards rushing. It was then revealed that the star receiver had a PCL sprain, which has kept him mostly out of the first six games of the season with the Rams.

The Rams have offensively stunted without Nacua and Kupp in the lineup. Despite Kyren Williams rushing for touchdowns in nine consecutive games, and logging 436 yards and eight touchdowns — the Rams are currently 2-4 on the season.

Los Angeles has only been able to beat the San Francisco 49ers in Week 3 and the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 7. The Raiders are not a competitive team in the NFL, and the 49ers were missing several key starters in Week 3.

The Rams have not looked anywhere near as dynamic as they usually do when Kupp and Nacua are on the field together. At long last, that might finally happen in the coming weeks.

Well, that is unless the Rams choose to move on from Kupp. Reports have indicated that the team is considering shopping Kupp before the Nov. 5 trade deadline. Should that happen and Nacua becomes healthy, he will be the premiere receiver on the team.
