Grace O’Malley is giving her ex-best friend a lot of grace.

The 27-year-old comedian spoke about her friendship breakup with former podcast cohost, Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia, in a January 2025 episode of Theo Vonn‘s “This Last Weekend” podcast.

“We were friends forever,” she said of her friendship with Bri, “since we were, like, in fifth grade. In 2020, she got the job at Barstool [Sports] and had to move to New York for it. And I was taking a semester off from college and she was like, ‘Do you wanna come with me?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, f—k it. Why not?'”

Grace then explained how she worked odd jobs like DoorDash for a year or so before Bri ultimately got her the job at Barstool, which led to her cohosting her friend’s podcast, “PlanBri Uncut.”

“So, she really, like, stuck her neck out for me,” Grace said of Bri. “We ended up doing the podcast together after like, a year of living there. And it was just so much fun. We had a blast. It was always fun doing it.”

However, as fans know, Bri ended the podcast in October 2024, which Grace later announced on Instagram one month later. Fans speculated that there had been a rift between the two childhood best friends for months. While the two originally denied the rumors, things came to a head after Brianna’s alleged DMs bad-mouthing Grace went viral on TikTok. In December 2024, Brianna revealed the two were no longer friends on her “BFFs” podcast.

“I ended the podcast in October because it was a forum to just bully me. On top of everything I was going through, I couldn’t have — I couldn’t take it anymore,” Brianna said during a Dec. 11 “BFFs” episode. “I ended our friendship. I was like I have to take a step away from this because it was constant [hate].”

Grace later decided to leave Barstool altogether, and signed a deal with Alexandra Cooper‘s Unwell Network in December 2024. And despite everything that’s happened, Grace is still optimistic the former friends will reconcile in the future.

“I think we’re just going through a rough patch right now,” Grace admitted to Theo Vonn. “I think one day, we’re gonna figure it out. She’s doing her thing I’m doing my thin, and I still love her so,” she said, before joking: “I’m being a politician right now.”
