Ravens Surprisingly Waive Veteran Pro Bowl Defender

The Baltimore Ravens are attempting to make a deep playoff run in 2024, and they have made plenty of moves to ensure that. However, the team has made a rather confusing move by waiving Pro Bowl defender Yannick Ngakoue.

Ngakoue has been waived to make a roster spot for Keaton Mitchell, who is making his debut after suffering a season-ending knee injury in 2023. Ngakoue is expected to be resigned from the Ravens' practice squad, but that is not guaranteed.

When proven veteran players end up on the waiver wire, a position-needy team could swoop in and sign that player. Though the Ravens are expecting to sign Ngakoue, don't be surprised if he is taken by another team that needs pass-rush help.
