Rebekah Vardy savages I'm A Celeb star for 'cosying up to Coleen Rooney' in scathing review

1 day ago 3

Rebekah Vardy, who famously took part in I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! in 2017, didn't hesitate to pass judgement on this year's contestants after Tuesday night's episode with its mixture of camaraderie and poignant moments.

She spared professional boxer Barry McGuigan from her critique, especially following his heartfelt sharing about his daughter's passing.

However, BBC Radio 1 presenter Dean McCullough did not escape her scathing review, reports the Mirror.

In her column for The Sun, Rebekah slammed him for what she sees as ingratiating behaviour towards Coleen Rooney, even predicting his downfall in the jungle.

Rebekah and Coleen became rivals in 2019 when the wife of Wayne Rooney executed a sting to unearth who among her circle was relaying private Instagram stories to the media.

The WAGs were at the centre of the infamous Wagatha Christie trial in 2022, where Coleen won the libel case against Rebekah.

Dean McCullough

Rebekah Vardy singled out 'irritating' Dean McCullough after he seemed to get closer to Coleen Rooney

Speaking in her column with The Sun, Rebekah scathed: "Dean, Dean and his cosying up to Coleen. It's so very obvious and, believe me, it is going to get tiresome. He absolutely loves to talk about Wagatha and when he does he knows he's going to get airtime from it."

Her disappointment in McCullough did not wane as she expressed relief at him being chosen for a trial, finding him "really, really irritating" and confidently stating that the public will quickly tire of him.

"I'm actually really glad he got voted to do the trial because actually I find him really, really irritating. Give it a rest, mate. I don't think it'll take long for the public to get bored of him at all," Vardy concluded in her no-holds-barred commentary.

Rebekah has made no secret of her disdain for Coleen and her circle, as evidenced in her column. She hurried back from a lavish Dubai getaway to catch the show, with her friends emphasising that Rebekah wouldn't dream of missing any of Coleen's jungle stint.

Despite previously claiming she was done with the Wagatha Christie saga, Rebekah seems unable to help herself from taking digs at Coleen. She didn't even wait for Coleen to get used to the gruelling competition before gleefully writing "Coleen sank in the river twice. It's the gift that keeps on giving" following Sunday's premiere.

While Rebekah criticised Dean for his excessive chatting with Coleen, she confessed that her emotions shifted from irritation to sorrow upon hearing Barry's poignant confession about his daughter. "But tonight belongs to Barry. What an incredible human being. From Barry's bootcamp as we saw with Barry putting on some exercises for some of his campmates to talking about losing his daughter in an unimaginable way. No parent should ever ever have to go through something like that. To show his vulnerability like he did was incredibly brave," she remarked.

Barry's daughter Danika, one of his four children with wife Sandra, tragically passed away in 2019 shortly after a bowel cancer diagnosis. Rebekah wasn't alone in being touched by Barry's tearful moment; host Ant McPartlin also confessed to "crying" during the emotional scene.
