Rebekah Vardy insists she is still open to end her feud with Coleen Rooney - but a reconciliation may be tough.

The two WAGs have been embroiled in a long-standing dispute for years, during which time Rebekah, 42, unsuccessfully tried to sue Coleen, 38, for libel. It appears there is no love lost between the pair, who used to be friends as they regularly watched their husbands represent England, as speculation is rife Rebekah has hatched a "revenge plot" with her rival set to appear in I'm a Celeb.

But the media personality, who shares five children with Leicester City forward Jamie, had reportedly offered Coleen a chance to clear the air in 2022. She claims she offered to meet Coleen, who is married to retired footballer Wayne Rooney, for a coffee at a Caffè Nero.

Rebekah says the opportunity to talk remains open - but, instead of a hot beverage, "a lot of wine" will now have to be on the table, she insists. The mum of five, born in Norwich, added: "Two years ago, I suggested we meet for a coffee at Caffè Nero — and that offer still stands. Perhaps now it might need to be over a lot of wine, though."

Coleen Rooney has met her fellow contestants - except two late arrivals

Rebekah's amendments reflect the strain she and Coleen have faced in the years since. The highly publicised libel case was dubbed the "Wagatha Christie" trial in the press. The court in London sided with Coleen and Rebekah was ordered to pay a substantial proportion of Rooney's legal expenses, which, together with her own legal costs, were estimated to total £3 million.

And it is Coleen's decision to partcipate in I'm a Celeb which has reportedly vexxed Rebekah. Rebekah, who married former England striker Jamie in 2016 and herself appeared in the jungle the following year, said: "Coleen’s legal team were very dismissive about my reality TV past. They mocked it. So for her to be doing the jungle now, it’s hypocrisy at its finest, isn’t it? I think there was always a plan for reinvention. She stayed out of the public eye for so long."

Rebekah told The Sun:" There were so many stories, negative stories, about Wayne. And I think she wanted to turn things around for herself. We’ve gone from a person about whom her legal team stood up in court and said, ‘She’s such a private individual’, and now this so-called private individual is going on one of the biggest reality TV shows in the UK. I mean, it’s ironic really."
