The Boston Red Sox acquired a left-handed reliever to shore up their bullpen on Tuesday, getting Jovani Moran from the Minnesota Twins in exchange for utility player Mickey Gasper, according to multiple reports.
Hunter Noll was first to report the news.
Moran, 27, underwent Tommy John surgery on his left elbow in Nov. 2023 and did not pitch last season. In 2023, he went 2-2 with a 5.31 ERA in 43 appearances out of the Twins' bullpen.
Gasper, 29, made his major league debut with the Red Sox in August. The former 27th-round draft pick went 0 for 18 with eight strikeouts, seeing time at first base, second base and designated hitter.
