Reliance Jio has dropped the new voice only plans in the Indian market for all the prepaid users. These plans will provide the users will SMS and voice benefits and will ditch on data allowance. This step has been taken by Jio and other telecom companies have also joined the same after the new rules introduced by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).
All the Jio subscribers will get to see two new plans including Rs 458 plan and the Rs 1958 prepaid plan. The device base plan offers unlimited calling features along with 1000 free SMS and of course 84 days validity. Furthermore, the Rs 1,958 plan will offer unlimited calling service with a validity of 365 days along with 3600 free SMS. Now, the plans don’t offer any data benefits still the users get to see free subscriptions for JioTV, JioCloud, and JioCinema.
What’s Jio planning to do after this?
Considering that Jio has already launched voice-only plans and the brand has multiple additional data plans as well. A tipster named Abhishek Yadav has suggested that the company will increase the price of the already available plans. It is also being said that the previous Rs 479 plan of Jio will be re-introduced in the market at Rs 539 with the same benefits including 6GB data and 84 days validity.
In addition, he has also claimed that the company could also drop the 24GB free data plan of Rs 1,899 at a new price of Rs 2,249. However, as of now, these prices have not been listed on the official website of Jio. Until Jio announces something officially, the readers are suggested to take all the information with a truckload of salt.
