Kyle Richards is speaking out against Sutton Stracke‘s claim that she tried to hook up with Kevin Costner during a trip to Aspen.
After Sutton, 53, made the suggestion on this week’s After Show for The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Kyle, 55, shot down the idea as she spoke of a potential reconciliation with Dorit Kemsley, 48, and shaded her for alluding to potentially inappropriate text messages with her estranged husband, Paul “PK” Kemsley, 57.
“That is definitely not true. I think she was just joking. He lives in Aspen. I have a home in Aspen, too. I’ve only met him two times and talked to him for maybe one minute, at the max. That it is. That is the end of that story,” Kyle told TMZ on November 20.
She continued, “He’s obviously a good-looking man but that story’s just not true. It’s just not. She’s joking. That’s all I’m gonna say about that. She had to be joking.”
Although Kyle noted that she is a Yellowstone fan, she insisted she has no interest in dating the 69-year-old actor.
Meanwhile, in an interview last week, Kyle said that despite her intense issues with Dorit, she believes they could mend their friendship eventually.
“I think that if you’ve ever cared about somebody that much, I think there’s always room for repair, assuming they haven’t done something horrendous to each other,” Kyle explained to Us Weekly on November 14. “I think there’s always a way back.”
“I came into this season knowing that we were not in a good place. But I thought, ‘We’re both going through hard times. This is when we should be leaning on each other,’” Kyle noted. “I tried that approach, and it wasn’t working. I think that was a lot of my frustration, too.”
As her separation from Mauricio Umansky, 54, continued and Dorit’s split from PK was announced, Kyle wondered why she and Dorit were remaining at odds.
“I just thought, ‘Life’s too short. Why are we doing this?’ We were not in a good place after she read my text at the [season 13] reunion, and I lost a lot of trust there. So just trying to work through those things and trying to get that trust back, and we’re better than we were at the beginning of the season, but is our relationship the same right now? No,” she shared.
As for her seemingly controversial messages with PK, Kyle denied any wrongdoing.
“It was more about DMing things and it was, like, things online,” she revealed. “We’ve always done that, saying the jokes and stuff, but it just felt like it was being made a bigger thing. And, you know, having to explain, ‘Are there text messages after being friends for 10 years?’ Of course, but I’m not gossiping about your wife to you. So anyway, I just — that was really frustrating.”
“And just felt like, ‘OK, [you were] looking at any excuse to come at me, and I just don’t have it in me right now. I know my character, and you know my character, just stop,’” she added.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 14 airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
