This season of The Real Housewives of New York City isn’t loved by most Bravo fans. This has been the case since it started, but the online reaction has worsened since Rebecca Minkoff‘s pregnancy prank. Now, Erin Lichy is discussing the fan backlash and owning up to her part in it.

As fans of RHONY know, a recent episode saw a rumor that Rebecca had gotten pregnant by a random man. Of course, this was not actually true, and now many viewers have vowed not to watch the show again because they felt misled. However, Andy Cohen has said they are sticking with this cast of ladies.

Recently, Erin was on a panel at Fan Fest in Miami. Naturally, the topic of the pregnancy prank came up. According to her, “I had no part in that. Hopefully, they will show. I kept saying, ‘Are you sure you wanna tell everyone that you screwed some other dude?'”

She added, “But she was gung ho about it, and I did continue it.”

Regarding the fans being upset, she said, “Yeah, I mean, I always thought it was kind of a weird thing to make up about yourself… it was a test.”

She also spoke to PEOPLE about the prank and had similar sentiments. According to her, “I thought it was kind of a crazy idea to make that rumor about yourself. But I was down to carry it out because I wanted to see who the pigeons really were.”

Erin also gave an update about her pregnancy. “Well, it’s harder because I’m just more exhausted by everybody. But, it’s so familiar at this point that it’s pretty easy,” she said.

The RHONY star also said her kids were happy about welcoming a new member of the family. “They were begging me to get pregnant, begging! ‘Please, we really want another baby.’ ‘You do? That means less toys, less attention, what’s wrong with you?’ They wanted it.”

Fans can watch RHONY on Tuesday nights on Bravo.
