Bronwyn Newport had a thing or two to say about Lisa Barlow‘s meltdown over flying coach after Wednesday’s episode of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.
As Lisa, 49, doubled down on flying off the handle at the thought of spending 65-minutes in coach to get home to Utah from Palm Springs as Bronwyn, 39, and her husband Todd Bradley, 65, flew first-class, Bronwyn shaded Lisa’s lack of gratitude, accused her of “[whispering]” behind her back about her finances, and called her out for putting her glam squad in standard seating.
“I’ve heard more about her sitting in coach than the time she spent in coach,” Bronwyn noted on the November 13 episode of the RHOSLC: After Show.
Although Bronwyn used to think it was funny that she and Lisa were “equally as boogie” and “spoiled,” there was only so much she could do regarding Lisa’s ticket home. After all, she couldn’t control how many first-class seats were left when she booked.
“I told her ahead of time, there was no seat, try and see if you can get wait listed,” she recalled. “And if Lisa has 87 cyber security people, she should get herself a NetJets person, and she could’ve called that moherf*cker and got her own plane home.”
Looking back at the trip, Bronwyn pointed out that she had paid for Lisa’s plane ride, gotten her and John Barlow gifts, and treated them to a house with a chef. Meanwhile, Bronwyn claimed, Lisa was trash-talking her and Todd’s finances while bragging about her own.
“Lisa has been telling a lot of people behind the scenes, the whispers get back to me, that she and John have more money than Todd and I do, [and] that she has put a downpayment down on a plane of her own,” Bronwyn revealed. “[And] I don’t want to drop my big d*ck on the table cuz it’s not mine, it’s my husband’s, but Todd is fine, and Todd and I routinely fly coach if we have to go somewhere last minute, and there’s not another seat. So if Lisa wanted to, there were plenty of options. There was a Porsche dealership. She could’ve gone and bought herself a f*cking car and driven herself home if she had $80,000 to buy a car. She could’ve got herself a plane for $30,000. She could’ve paid and stayed at the house an extra night.”
“There were options for Lisa and her unlimited budget to do whatever she wanted. On my dime, I put her in coach,” she continued. “If that’s the end of our friendship from her perspective, totally fine.”
Bronwyn then pointed out that while her glam team flies coach class, Lisa’s does not.
“If Lisa’s so opposed to coach then why does she put her glam team in coach?” she wondered.
In her own segment, Lisa continued her rant against coach, saying she’s had way better times in Palm Springs and that she hadn’t “flown coach since college.”
“We were like, sitting like sardines, like super close to each other. Like, I felt like I couldn’t move my arms or my hands,” she shared. “Like, ‘Oh my gosh, this lady is like right here.’ There’s lots of turbulence. You can feel every bump. No free drinks. I’m looking out the window and I’m like, ‘Oh my gosh, we’re in the back of the plane. At least if the plane crashes [we’ll live] because the first class is the first to die.”
“I was slumming it,” she added.
Also on the RHOSLC: After Show, Whitney Rose, 38, noted that Lisa “even b*tched about [the flight] not being attached to her sky miles number because she wanted to get credit for the sky miles” and Mary Cosby, 51, seemed to side with Lisa.
“I’m not trying to be a snob, but if you fly down on a private plane, then you should go back on a private plane,” she reasoned.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season five airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
