Richard Osman rushed to hospital for surgery after 'most painful' health issue

2 hours ago 2

Pointless' Richard Osman has been taken to hospital.

The TV presenter, 54, has shared news that he was admitted into the care of medical professionals while speaking on his podcast The Rest Is Entertainment. Osman revealed that doctors identified kidney stones after his co-host Marina Hyde noticed a "atmosphere of concern".

Richard then said: "I'm alright. I've had quite the week of it. I woke up the other night in pain and I had a kidney stone. If anyone at home has ever had one, it is the single most painful thing that has ever happened to me."

Marina said that she'd also had one and revealed she found it "more painful than childbirth" as Richard continued: "The doctors kept saying 'it's more painful than childbirth'. I can't ... I'm not sure I can buy it."

Osman said that it was an "unbelievably painful process" and issued his thanks "to everyone at the Charing Cross Hospital who were so great".

"I was having like liquid morphine [and] it didn't like touch the sides. It was awful but then I had an op and they took it out, and so I just have the absolute joy of not being in pain."
