Rob Kardashian has spent virtually all of 2024 shut away from society and he’s showing no intention of switching things up as his worried sisters fret about their reclusive little brother like never before, a source exclusively tells In Touch.
“Rob lives for his little girl, Dream,” the insider says. “She’s the absolute center of his world, and he spends most of his time with her either at his house or over at Khloé [Kardashian]’s.”
The former Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, 37, welcomed his daughter in November 2016. Since, fans have been able to check up on the family via social media. Rob broke his six-month social media hiatus in October to post a picture of his daughter, now 8, with whom he shares with ex Blac Chyna.
While it’s clear Rob has been an active dad, the source says his family worries that his fear of being recognized in public has him living like a hermit in his own compound. Even when “Khloé wants to take the kids out anywhere, 99 percent of the time Rob refuses to go.” It comes down to the fact that, after decades of airing his life on reality television, the 37 year old is now “terrified of being out in public and getting recognized or photographed.”
He’s been especially reliant on his closest sibling – Khloé, 40, who opened up about her relationship with her brother in a Bustle interview published on Wednesday, October 4.
“I love all my siblings, but I think with Rob, I identify with him so much. I feel so deeply what he feels — the struggles that he has, or just wanting to be out of the public eye, or just feeling like he doesn’t fit in or is being judged about his appearance,” she said of her little brother, who has often battled against the fame and attention his family’s show brought him.
The insecurity has gotten so bad, that during “the rare times he does leave the gated community,” the shy reality star “drives around in blacked-out cars and even wears disguises,” prompting the source to declare: “he’s truly paranoid.”
Rob’s life without his daughter isn’t very adventurous, the source says. He shares custody of Dream with his ex, Chyna, 36, on an alternating weekly basis, meaning he spends half his time living like a bachelor college student without any classes.
“When he doesn’t have Dream, his days are pretty much just spent at his home with a few close friends who come over to play video games, eat pizza, and just hang out in the safety of his compound.”
As for any chance of romance, the source assures that, “Rob does still have a bit of a love life,” but candle-lit dates are out of the question for now, as “any woman that wants to see him has to come to him, because he almost never goes anywhere.”
“His family are all telling him it’s no way to live his life, they worry that he’s become so agoraphobic and completely shut off from the outside world.”
