Los Angeles is in the grip of a terrifying string of wildfires meaning the premiere for Robbie Williams’ biopic Better Man will no longer go ahead

The premiere for Robbie Williams’ critically acclaimed biopic Better Man in Los Angeles has been cancelled.

On Tuesday morning, a massive 1,200-acre brush fire tore through celebrity enclave the Pacific Palisades and an evacuation order has since been put into effect.

The Los Angeles Fire Department said in a statement: "The Palisades Fire is burning near Palisades Drive. Those nearby should get set for a potential wildfire evacuation by gathering supplies and loved ones." Now, Paramount has confirmed the premiere for Better Man will no longer go ahead today, with a studio spokesperson citing the dangerous conditions in LA.

A statement read: “Due to the dangerous conditions affecting Los Angeles we are canceling tomorrow’s premiere of Better Man. Our thoughts are with those impacted by the devastating fires resulting from these conditions, and we encourage everyone to stay safe and follow guidance and orders from local officials and government agencies.”

The premiere is not the only star-studded event in the City of Angels to have been called off due to the wildfires. This week, SAG-AFTRA pulled the plug on its live announcement for this year’s award show nominations and on Tuesday night, a West Hollywood event for last year’s Saturday Night film was called off, as were premieres for Universal’s new flick Wolf Man at Hollywood’s TCL Chinese Theatre and Max’s medical drama The Pitt.

While official burn and damage reports have yet to be released, celebrities such as Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson live in the Pacific Palisades area, with many other A-listers calling the neighbourhood home.

US reality superstars Heidi and Spencer Pratt faced heartache as their Pacific Palisades home burned down in the fires. Thankfully, the couple, famous for their roles in The Hills, and their entire family managed to evacuate their home safely earlier in the day. Before the evacuation began, Spencer shared a video on his Instagram Stories showing fire officials attempting to control the blaze by dropping water from above onto the nearby mountainside.

Oscar-nominated star James Woods also confirmed on social media on Tuesday that he had been forced to evacuate the Pacific Palisades area due to the fires.

Taking to X, he wrote: "To all the wonderful people who've reached out to us, thank you for being so concerned. Just letting you know that we were able to evacuate successfully. I do not know at this moment if our home is still standing, but sadly, houses on our little street are not."

Schitt’s Creek star Eugene Levy was another famous face forced to abandon his Pacific Palisades home this week as wildfires tore through the area. Speaking to the LA Times he said: "The smoke looked pretty black and intense of Temescal Canyon." Eugene added: "I couldn't see any flames, but the smoke was very dark."
