Romeo Miller‘s role in an upcoming film helped him process his real-life grief. Speaking with VIBE earlier this month in West Hollywood during Lifetime’s celebration of its winter holiday slate, the 35-year-old reflected on starring in Bebe Winans‘ We Three Kings and how it impacted him personally.
“We Three Kings is an amazing project. I shot a lot of Christmas and holiday films and this one’s a lot different because of what the story is about. I don’t want to give too much away, but it unravels to something very beautiful,” detailed the actor. “It deals with grief. And me losing my little sister two-and-a-half years ago, it helped me heal. I’m excited for people to see it because a lot of people deal with grief very differently, right?”
The movie, set to premiere on the network on Nov. 30, is executive produced by Bebe King. He also stars alongside his niece, Deborah Joy Winans. According to a press release, the film tells the story of a father attempting to reunite his estranged daughters at the holidays with the power of music, memories, and family love.
“Throughout the story, the other characters are going through it and you could see a little bit of your life through everybody in this movie. So I say as a whole, when you watch this, it’s like going to therapy. And I learned a lot on set. And like I said, I think a lot of people are going to learn from this film, not just be entertained when they watch this on Lifetime,” Miller detailed.
“I just play the dad who is very proud of all the accomplishments of my daughters…the dad that brings my daughters together. It’s a wonderful film. I’m glad to have shared this wonderful experience with these wonderful, talented people,” added Bebe Winans.
“But [it’s] something, I think that the whole family can come and sit down, cry together, laugh together, and have a good time and learn together.”
