Rowan Atkinson, a stalwart of British comedy, is undoubtedly one of the nation's most cherished figures.

The English actor is best known for his iconic roles in Mr Bean, Blackadder and Johnny English, as well as memorable parts in Love Actually and Four Weddings and a Funeral.

Over his four-decade career, Atkinson has been honoured with both a BAFTA and Olivier Award, and The Observer listed him among the 50 funniest actors in British comedy.

However, despite his private nature, Rowan's personal life has often been thrust into the spotlight.

In terms of romantic relationships, Atkinson was married to Sunetra Sastry from February 1990 until their divorce on 10th November 2015, reports MyLondon.

The pair met during the 1980s when Sunetra was working as a makeup artist on the set of Blackadder. They share two children, Ben and Lily.

After 24 years together, the couple parted ways citing irreconcilable differences.

During the divorce proceedings, the estranged pair were in the process of constructing an £11 million home in Oxfordshire.

Shortly after his split from Sunetra, Rowan introduced his new partner Louise Ford, who is 29 years his junior, to the public.

His daughter Lily reportedly took issue with her father's new relationship, criticising his actions as a 'd*** move,' according to MyLondon.

In a significant move, Lily chose to drop the Atkinson surname and adopt her mother's maiden name instead.

Lily wasn't the only one taken aback by the unexpected pairing. Comedian James Acaster, Louise's ex-boyfriend, confessed during his stand-up routine that he discovered their relationship through The Sun On Sunday, as reported by the Daily Mail.

"I got left for Mr Bean," James quipped during his performance.

He continued: "I found out a year after we split up. I opened the newspaper and there was a full-page story. No one else in the history of time has ever been left for Mr Bean."
