Samsung confirmed months ago that its Android 15 update, One UI 7, would be launching with “upcoming” Galaxy S devices in 2025. Now, just a day ahead of its big Galaxy S25 launch event, Samsung is saying that yet again.
In a post showcasing the “rave reviews” of One UI 7 during its beta program, Samsung confirms that One UI 7 will be “officially released” with its “upcoming Galaxy S series devices.” That’s referring to the Galaxy S25 series, which will launch tomorrow.
One UI 7 will be officially released with the upcoming Galaxy S series devices.
Again, we’ve known this for a few months now, but the timing of this post removes any doubt whatsoever that the Galaxy S25 series will be the launching point for One UI 7. Samsung has yet to confirm plans for further updates to older Galaxy devices, though.
The One UI 7 beta, despite not expanding past the Galaxy S24 series, was apparently a hit. Samsung says that the “first round” of testers for One UI 7’s beta were registered “at more than twice the rate of the One UI 6 beta.”
Samsung will officially announce the Galaxy S25 series, and likely more details about One UI 7’s rollout, at its January 22 event. Reservations are still open for the company’s new phones, with the no-obligation reservations giving a $50 credit and other additional savings.
