Samsung Galaxy S25 Launch Date
According to the latest leak, the Samsung Galaxy S25 series is expected to launch on January 22, 2025. This information comes from tipster Max Jambor on X.com, where he hinted at the date “22.1” without explicitly mentioning the phone or event name.
An earlier report from the Korean FNNews claimed the Galaxy S25 would launch on January 23. However, considering the time difference (South Korea is 14 hours ahead of Washington, D.C.), this would mean the event will likely take place on January 22 in the U.S.
Galaxy Unpacked 2025 Event Location
The location for Galaxy Unpacked 2025 is yet to be officially confirmed. For context, Samsung’s last two Galaxy Unpacked events were held in Northern California—San Francisco for the Galaxy S23 in 2023 and San Jose for the Galaxy S24 last year.
The Korean report mentioned earlier, which discusses the event date, suggests the next edition will also take place in San Francisco. This would make it a familiar location for the brand’s flagship launches.

Samsung Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra Specs
The Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, and Galaxy S25 Ultra are all rumored to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. It appears that Samsung is returning to its Galaxy S23-era strategy of equipping all models with Snapdragon processors, rather than using Exynos chips in select regions.
The regular Galaxy S25 is tipped to feature a 6.36-inch display, the S25 Plus a 6.7-inch display, and the S25 Ultra a massive 6.9-inch display. The Galaxy S25 Plus and S25 Ultra are expected to offer QHD+ resolution, while the base model will have a 1080p display.
In addition to hardware upgrades, Samsung fans can look forward to the new software. We’re anticipating the debut of One UI 7, based on Android 15, alongside these new phones.
The Galaxy S25 Slim Could Be the Surprise Star
Earlier, there were rumors about another phone, the Galaxy S25 Slim, launching sometime later in 2025. However, recent reports suggest it may debut alongside the Galaxy S25 trio during the Galaxy Unpacked event.
The Galaxy S25 Slim is expected to feature a 6.7-inch flat screen and a thinner body compared to the rest of the lineup. Leaks also suggest it will boast a 200 MP main camera with an ISOCELL HP2 sensor.
This new addition to the Galaxy S25 lineup could signify Samsung’s intent to compete with Apple’s rumored iPhone 17 Air. The iPhone 17 Air, expected to be a sleek and lightweight iPhone, is set to launch in September 2025.
Some sources speculate that Apple will replace its Plus variant with the Air, while for Samsung, the slim phone will be an addition to the series rather than a replacement—for now.
