Scott Disick talks to son Mason, 15, ‘all the time’ about ‘hereditary’ alcohol struggles

Scott Disick doesn’t want son Mason to follow in his footsteps.

The “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” alum speaks candidly to his 15-year-old son about “hereditary” alcohol issues, he said on Wednesday’s premiere episode of the “Khloé in Wonderland” podcast.

“I do explain to Mason, like, how drinking affected me and how badly it put me in certain places, and he knows that,” the reality star, 41, told Khloé Kardashian, saying these chats happen “all the time.”

Disick, who also shares daughter Penelope, 12, and son Reign, 10, with ex Kourtney Kardashian, added that Mason thought he would be “treated differently” by his dad “because of that.”

He clarified, “I said … ‘If I see a problem with alcohol with you, I will take action. But other than that, you’re just like every other kid. You’re gonna try drinking when you’re gonna try drinking.’

“If I see a problem that might be hereditary, then I’ll jump in,” the Hulu personality reiterated, acknowledging that Mason seeing his “outlandish” behavior on “KUWTK” may “prevent him” from doing the same.

Disick, notably, stopped drinking after checking into rehab multiple times over the years.

Elsewhere in the episode, the Talentless creator revealed the dating advice he has given his eldest child now that Mason is “starting to really like girls” and “girls like him.”

Disick cautions the teenager against “lying and manipulating any girls.”

With that in mind, he tells Mason not to communicate falsehoods to friends to “get somewhere” romantically before “moving onto someone else.”

Disick gushed that his son does indeed make boundaries clear when he overhears him chatting with girls on the phone.

As for his own dating life, the “Flip It Like Disick” star assured listeners that he is “not worried” about finding someone special while focusing on fatherhood.

When asked whether he will continue dating women “younger than [he] should” in the future, Disick quipped that he is waiting for his exes to get more “mature.”

The “Kardashians” star, who dated Sofia Richie and Amelia Gray Hamlin after splitting from Kourtney in 2015, said he’d “get back with a former partner when she was “older,” “mature” and “f–ked over” with “some life lessons.”

Kourtney, for her part, married Travis Barker in May 2022, with whom she welcomed son Rocky the following year.
