Members of the Selling Sunset team have opened up about how they’re faring in the wildfires in Los Angeles.
While the stars are known for their ownership of luxurious properties, their living conditions have been impacted like everyone else’s, with over 1000 homes destroyed and more than 70,000 people evacuated in the wildfires so far. The Netflix stars have shared details about evacuation and home loss, and offers to help those they can.
Chrishell Stause, 43, lives with her wife, singer G Flip, 31, in a £2.7 million mansion, and the couple was evacuated on January 8, alongside their dog Gracie. She wrote on Instagram at the time: “Immediate evacuation in my area. Me, G & Gracie are safe and out of the house.” Later, alongside a photo of the fires, she wrote: “Prayers are extremely valued as well.”
On Thursday, she shared two videos explaining the situation fully. “Hello from California, it was an extremely long two nights. We’ve had no sleep, we did evacuate last night,” she said. “Thank God they put the fire out quickly, if it had happened the night before when the winds were happening and they weren’t allowed to fly it would have been a complete different story, so I’m so thankful. We’re still in a red zone, so that means we still have to leave at any moment’s notice.”

Meanwhile, Mary Bonnet, 43, lives with her husband Romain and their dogs, and filmed herself in her garden at home as she and her husband took measures to protect against the fire if it reached their house, with the flames close to her home.
“I just got back from Egypt, and I’ve doused down my house. We’re watching the news,” she said to her fans. “We’ve turned on sprinklers. And I sprayed down my roof. I’ve got my doggies. That’s the most important thing. I have my car packed with all my irreplaceable items. My hair is not done. We had the gardeners come to trim everything back.

She added: “We have everything protected. We’re very lucky compared to a lot of other people in LA. Some of my friends are, like, homeless right now. So, I’m feeling very, very lucky, even when the sky changed. Even as I’m looking at it, it’s changing.”
Meanwhile, Brett Oppenheim, 47, revealed that he had been forced to evacuate and had moved in with his twin brother Jason: “I just evacuated to my brother’s from my house. Let’s just hope the Hollywood Hills don’t get worse.”
Jason took to Instagram to urge others to do the same if ordered, sharing: “Fires in all directions. Already had two clients call me this morning because their houses burned down. If you’re in an evacuation zone, just evacuate. We can rebuild houses, we can’t rebuild our loved ones.”
In a video on his main grid, Jason also described how he was trying to help those who’d lost their homes, urging real estate agents to “come together” and “help the community.” He wrote: “If you’ve lost your home in the Los Angeles fires and you need to find a place to rent until your home is rebuilt, all Oppenheim Group agents will represent you for free or credit you back any commission we receive in the transaction.”
Similarly, Nicole Young revealed her own plan to try to help others out. She wrote on Instagram, “For any pet owners (large or small animals) in the fire evacuation zones that need help getting your animals to safety, please DM me with the details and location and my husband and I will do everything we can to help!”
