When Is BSS’ 2025 Comeback?
BSS will drop their single album TELEPARTY on January 8, 2025.
“TELEPARTY, a portmanteau of ‘telepathy’ and ‘party,’ represents BSS’ heart-to-heart party of connection through their telepathic empathy,” wrote SEVENTEEN’s company Pledis Entertainment in a statement. “With this album, they remind everyone to pause and savor the ordinary yet precious moments of everyday life.”
Who Are BSS?
The unit is the acronym for “BooSeokSoon,” each of the three letters taken from the Korean name of the three members that form the unit. The trio debuted as a sub-unit in 2018, with their first digital single “Just Do It.” In 2023, they made their long-awaited comeback after not being active for five years, with the single album SECOND WIND.
“Although SEVENTEEN is already a bundle of fun as a whole, BSS was formed with the members who are extra funny,” DK told Tidal in 2023. “As a sub-unit our talents are quite balanced, and we deliver performances that are fun to both watch and listen to. We’d like to lead the industry as a ‘fourth-generation’ K-pop group.”
Their single album, SECOND WIND, broke records as the highest first-week seller among all K-pop units, with 610,000 copies sold. The title track, “Fighting,” was chosen as the official cheer anthem for South Korea’s national team at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
“‘Fighting’ first came to life when we were preparing for SEVENTEEN’s seventh EP, Heng:garæ,” Hoshi explained. “We produced the track as a SEVENTEEN song with all of the members, but as we worked on it a little more, “Fighting” seemed more fitting to BSS, and that’s how it became the lead single of BSS’ first single album. Regardless of the genre, if we feel a track is more suitable for a sub-unit rather than the full group, we develop the track further to more richly express the sub-unit’s character.”
