The podcast will include episode-by-episode, behind-the-scenes breakdowns of Apple's thriller series with its star and producer.
Ben Stiller and Adam Scott will host a Severance companion podcast for the Apple thriller’s second season.
“The Severance Podcast with Ben Stiller and Adam Scott is an episode-by-episode, behind-the-scenes breakdown of the award-winning show, conducted with the creators, cast, crew and fans,” per a release.
Stiller, a director and executive producer for the show, will join Scott, star and executive producer, in rewatching season one of the show and sharing “in-depth, never-before-heard analysis” before offering weekly insight as season two releases in early 2025.
“We have severed ourselves from the world for five years making this show,” Stiller and Scott said in a statement. “While we have no memory of what happened during that time, we thought we should do a podcast for all the Innies who will have no recollection of watching, in an attempt to reintegrate them with their memory of the show.”
The podcast’s first season will launch with two episodes on Jan. 7 before then releasing new installments every weekday until the show’s premiere on Jan. 17. Season two of the podcast will be released weekly on Fridays, in conjunction with the show, ending on March 21.
Season one guests include Severance creator Dan Erickson, executive producer Jackie Cohn and stars Zach Cherry (Dylan), John Turturro (Irving) and Britt Lower (Helly). Severance superfans, including Jon Stewart, will also appear as guests.
The Severance Podcast with Ben Stiller and Adam Scott is produced by Audacy’s Pineapple Street Studios. In their statement, Stiller and Scott said, “We’re happy not to be working with Lumon Industries on this podcast and instead to be bringing it to the world with Audacy Podcasts, who would never send us to the break room.”
In the Severance season two trailer, Scott’s Mark races up and down the barren hallways of Lumon’s dystopian offices, as the rushed voices of season one’s epic finale play overhead. The show’s January return will mark two and a half years since the show first premiered in February 2022.
“In season two, Mark and his friends learn the dire consequences of trifling with the severance barrier, leading them further down a path of woe,” a press release reads. Season one of the series earned 14 Emmy Award nominations, including for best drama series, best directing and a nod for Scott’s lead actor. The series also earned two Writers Guild trophies, as well as two Screen Actors Guild nominations, a nod from the Producers Guild and the Directors Guild.
