Sister Wives‘ Janelle Brown has been named executor of her late son Robert Garrison Brown‘s estate following his suicide in March, In Touch can confirm.
One of the reality star’s first major moves was selling her son’s home. The four-bedroom, two-bathroom house in Flagstaff, Arizona, sold for $388,650 on December 26. The U.S. Sun was the first to report the sale.
The home originally hit the market in September for $425,000, but Janelle, 55, cut the price several times over the months that followed. Garrison killed himself inside one of the property’s bedrooms, with his cause of death listed as a gunshot wound to the head.
While Janelle is overseeing her late son’s estate, Garrison’s dad, Kody Brown, is not included in the proceedings, The U.S. Sun reported. The pair had been estranged for several years before Garrison’s death.
Garrison purchased the 1400-square-foot home in Flagstaff, Arizona, in 2021 for $329,000. In addition to the four upper floor bedrooms with vaulted ceilings and two full bathrooms, the house came with two parking spots, according to the listing viewed by In Touch.
The home also included fresh paint, vinyl floors and air conditioning, as well as a living room with a gas fireplace, kitchen, pantry, laundry and a den space on the main level. A small fenced courtyard and a fenced backyard was also included outside of the house.
Janelle and Kody, 55, confirmed their son’s passing in a joint statement shared via social media. “Kody and I are deeply saddened to announce the loss of our beautiful boy Robert Garrison Brown,” the former couple said in a March 5 Instagram post. “He was a bright spot in the lives of all who knew him. His loss will leave such a big hole in our lives that it takes our breath away. We ask that you please respect our privacy and join us in honoring his memory.”
Janelle shared a tribute to her late son on Christmas Eve, posting a photo of him kissing her on the cheek as she laughed. “Miss you so much sweetheart. I am so beyond grateful we were all together last year and got pictures,” she wrote over the snapshot on December 24.
The TLC star told fans how her family spent their first Thanksgiving without Garrison in a December 1 Instagram post. Janelle joined daughter Madison Brush (née Brown) and son-in-law Caleb Brush at their North Carolina home and hinted that some of her other four children joined them.
“First of the ‘big’ holidays without you sweetheart. We all gathered in NC to celebrate together and kept your photo close by. We laughed about your silly sense of humor and told so many stories honoring you,” Janelle wrote next to a framed picture of Garrison. “We ate, played games and enjoyed each other’s company. Everyone is returning home now and normal life resumes tomorrow. But I feel you close by.”
Janelle purchased a 156-acre plot of land in North Carolina for $289,000, where she is building Taeda Farms with Madison, 29, and Caleb, 37.
In Touch exclusively reported on December 9, 2022, that Janelle ended her marriage to Kody.
“Janelle is a strong independent woman and realized she can do it on her own,” a source revealed, adding that the reality star – who had been in a spiritual marriage with Kody since 1993 – “outgrew him.”
Two days later, Kody confirmed he and Janelle had separated.
