Sister Wives star Meri Brown opened up about her new life in Utah and what she’s looking for in a romance following her split from Kody Brown and move away from Flagstaff, Arizona.
“Life is good,” the reality star, 53, told Extra in a Tuesday, December 10, interview. “I’m just doing all the things, just having fun and building businesses and taking adventures and my dog is a good road-tripper.”
Meri noted how her pup helped get her in shape, explaining, “I gotta take her out a couple of times a day and walk her, so that definitely helped.”
As for her living arrangements in Utah, “I own the house that I bought years ago, it was an old family home,” she shared. “It just made sense for me when Kody and I terminated our marriage to move on, not stay in Flagstaff.”
Kody, 55 ,and Meri confirmed their split after 32 years together in January 2023 with a joint statement.
“We feel compelled to share our own truth, in our own way and in our own timing,” the former couple shared via Instagram on January 10, 2023. “After more than a decade of working on our relationship in our own unique ways, we have made the decision to permanently terminate our marriage relationship.”
In the time since,, Meri has been hard at work building up her motivational brand, Worthy Up. “It’s a community of people who just want to remember their worth. I think that it’s super important to remember who we are and what we’re doing and that we’re worthy of whatever it is that we want or what we want to do,” she told the outlet, calling it a “glow up for the insides.”
Speaking of her own glow up, the TLC star shared, “It was not really one particular moment. It was just kind of a process for me… I had a very dark spot in my life, and I was trying to turn that around and I was doing all the things. I was going to therapy, I was reading books, and I was journaling, and all the things that are supposed to help promote growth … It was definitely a journey. I’m still on it.”
As far as her love life, Meri is “100 percent” open to dating again, despite her failed romance with Amos Andrews. The pair began seeing each other in October 2023 before splitting in February.
Regarding what she wants in a future love interest, Meri said, “He is somebody who is very confident in who he is, he’s successful, is not shy about who he is and what he wants, he’s very confident in supporting me and what I’m doing… He matches my energy. He can’t be intimidated or bothered by what I do or who I am.”
Meri reaffirmed that she’s not close with her fellow sister wives Christine Brown and Janelle Brown, both of whom also split from Kody. Christine, 52, was the first of the family patriarch’s wives to leave him in November 2021, and Janelle, 55, followed suit just one year later in December 2022.
“We’re always going to be kind because we have a shared history. We have shared children … We have this family experience, so I think we’re all going to be like that, even though our paths are not, like, aligning and paralleling with each other,” Meri said, adding she still remains “cordial” with Christine and Janelle.
