Somber girlfriend of Liam Payne spotted in public for first time since singer's death

The Liam Payne tragedy has shook everyone involved to its core. Nearly a week after his death, there are still a lot of questions left to be answered. That process, unfortunately, makes the tragedy drag longer than anyone would want. That's especially, painfully true for his friends and family.

By all accounts, Payne was under the influence of dangerous drugs at the time of his death. It's unclear whether his fall was accidental or deliberate on his part, but the circumstances surrounding it continue to be a contentious topic. Perhaps no one feels more regret about Payne's death more than his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy. Cassidy was with Payne in Argentina but flew home only a couple of days before Payne's death.

Cassidy only gave one statement to the ones supporting her and a personal one directly aimed at Payne. She also asked for privacy to "navigate" everything that has happened.

According to an anonymous source, a "friend close to the situation", there was tension between Cassidy and Payne before disaster struck. That led to hear early departure, so she must be feeling guilty for what transpired. It's a tough situation all around.
