Southern Charm’s Leva Bonaparte Says She Is ‘Proud’ of Shep Rose This Year

Shep Rose is self-champing his personal growth this year. The Southern Charm star spent some time working on himself at a retreat in Costa Rica after a disastrous display at BravoCon 2023. And co-star Leva Bonaparte is very proud of where Shep is currently at.

Southern Charm Season 10 premiered last week and Shep was sharing his feelings of growth with Austen Kroll. Craig Conover is less of a sympathetic ear on the matter, but clearly some of She’s costars think that he has bettered himself since last season.

Leva Bonaparte praised Shep Rose for having “a lot of growth”

Leva told DECIDER that Shep is acting “like a grown man” this season.

“I was really proud of Shep this year. He’s really grown up,” the Republic Garden & Lounge owner said. “I was telling my husband this the other day, like, ‘You know, I really respect Shep. He really grew into a real gentleman this year.’”

She added, “He owns his emotions. He was doing very un-Shep-like things, like a grown man. Not that he wasn’t a grown man, but he had a lot of growth this year.”

So Leva confirmed it. The retreat at Rythmia Ayahuasca last January did the trick for Shep. He called it a “revelatory” experience. It’s a step in the right direction for Shep, who played the role of the endless bachelor since the first season of Southern Charm. Some fans called it Pete Pan syndrome.

Shep has been working to work through “a lot of webs” internally. One pivotal decision was to excise hard liquor out of his alcoholic intake.

It will be interesting to see more of the new and improved Shep this season. Given what was said in the premiere episode, it seems like he isn’t over his ex-girlfriend Taylor Ann Green. Perhaps there is a need to let go of something else in his life as well.

Catch Southern Charm Thursdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
