Joe Swash and Stacey Solomon may be household names with a slew of TV shows, but they still face the same challenges as any other couple of young parents.

Joe told Essex Life that – apart from a little bit of backup from his and Stacey’s parents – they’re bringing up their six children unaided: “It can be really difficult,” he said.

“But we try to make as much effort as possible to take them out as much as we can. We work really hard so we can spend as much time with our kids as possible.”

Joe and Stacey have had three children together — Rex, aged four, Rose, two, Belle, one. But they also live with Stacey's two sons from previous relationships, Leighton, who’s coming up to 12, and 16-year-old Zachary. Joe's son Harry is also 16.

Joe and Stacey are even busier at home than they are at work

Joe says that he and Stacey love taking their family out into the great outdoors, having visited the likes of the Isle of Skye, Ben Nevis and Loch Lomond in recent months.

He added:“There's so many good things to do with the kids that we're spoiled for choice.”

Even their older kids love joining Joe and Stacey for caravan holidays on the coast. That's despite Joe ruefully admitting will be young men and wanting to be off on their own soon enough.

He says that they both have fond memories of their own childhoods and they are keen to give the same experience to their own kids: “They’re not going to be kids forever, so we just try to make as many memories for them as possible.”

It comes as Joe and Stacey prepare to release a new "Kardashian-style" reality TV show.

Little has been revealed about the new show, although the former X factor star did say the BBC series will help fans "get to know them a little more".
