There's already speculation over the next series of Strictly Come Dancing

The latest series of Strictly Come Dancing has yet to even conclude and there is now already speculation about a celebrity who could compete on the BBC show next year.

Some fans have reportedly speculated that Angellica Bell, 48, could take part in the next series. The presenter - whose career has included roles on CBBC - has been rumoured as a potential contestant for Strictly in the past.

It was reported by the Sun back in 2016 that Angellica had signed to be a contestant, though she was not in the line-up when it was later announced. There was also speculation over a possible stint in the dance contest in 2020.

And there is now said to be speculation that Angellica has been a reserve but could be part of the line-up next year. According to the Daily Mail, one fan said: "Angellica was announced late in the day as confirmed by The Sun one year, and then didn't actually materialise in the cast. I do think it's very possible she's been the reserve before." While a second said: "Definitely a backup squad somewhere - makes sense that she's in it."

It comes after Angellica shared her thoughts on the prospect of taking part in Strictly during an interview with the Sun last month. She stated in the interview that she's spoken to some past contestants about the BBC show.

Angellica told the outlet: "So when I've had like in-depth conversations with people who are my friends and they say it's great, I would definitely go from their recommendation." She said they have encouraged her to do Strictly.

She said experiences have varied, before being quoted as saying: "But all I know is I go into it and just be like, right. How much do I have to move my hips?" The outlet said self-confessed Strictly fan Angellica has "watched every show".

Several of Angellica's colleagues from the One Show have previously competed on Strictly. They include Alex Jones, which took part in 2011, and former host Matt Baker, who placed as runner-up in the dance compete the previous year.

The rumours of her possible involvement in the future comes ahead of this year's winner being announced. The latest series of Strictly will conclude on Saturday with its grand final, which will see comedian Chris McCausland, JLS' JB Gill, actor Sarah Hadland and Love Island star Tasha Ghouri compete to be crowned the winner.

Ahead of final, it was revealed on Thursday that Chris has been the odds-on favourite. Bookmaker Coral said that he has odds of 1-20 to win, adding that those odds suggest that the contestant has a 95 per cent chance of winning. And it was announced on Friday morning that Chris had also stormed ahead in a poll of Mirror readers, who were asked for their choice of winner.
