While Lottie Tomlinson and Lewis Burton prepare to expand their family, Caroline Flack's mum continues to be "devastated" by their romance, sources claim.

Lottie, 26, was best pals with Caroline before she took her own life in 2020. Her passing came as she was set to stand trial following an assault allegation. Before she appeared in court, the Love Island host, 40, took her own life and it was revealed she had left a note to her boyfriend.

But while Lottie and Lewis later found love with each other, Caroline's mum Christine is said have struggled with the pair's romance, which they went public with months after Caroline's death. An Instagram post shared over new year had Lewis gush over his holiday and expanding family as he wrote: "Our last one as 3," as he referred to the impending arrival of his and Lottie's second child, a baby girl, who is nearly due.

Now, a friend of Caroline had claimed their happiness "must be devastating for Christine". Speaking to Mail Online, the pal said: "She has lost her daughter and now Lewis has become some kind of influencer with his girlfriend, living in apparent bliss and about to become a father for the second time.

"He has been able to move on with his life and find happiness, Caroline hasn't and it is heartbreaking. Nobody expected Lewis to never find love again, of course he was entitled to, but it was all very quick."

While another friend claimed that Christine is "no longer close" with her late daughter's close pal Lou Teasdale, who was there for the Love Island star. It is alleged that Louise "not ditching Lewis" is thought to be a "contributing factor" to their dwindled connection.

The comments come after it was revealed Caroline's mum will be involved in a documentary that is looking into what happened to Caroline in her final months. The "challenging" new documentary will explore the many "unanswered questions" surrounding the star's death and Christine will team up again with the makers of the 2021 documentary Caroline Flack: Her Life And Death - Curious Films - to "explore" the end of her daughter's life whilst celebrating her successful career as a presenter of Love Island and The X Factor. The documentary will be called Caroline and will drop on the streaming service later in 2025.

Speaking ahead of the documentary, Christine said: "I still have so many questions about what happened to Caroline in her final months, and it's something I feel deeply compelled to explore, even though I know it will be challenging. I'm pleased to be working with the team at Curious Films once again, in the hope of bringing clarity and understanding to Carrie’s story – not just for her, but for everyone who cared about her."
