Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's on-screen appearances have been dubbed "uncomfortable" by TV presenter and writer Victoria Coren Mitchell, who suggests the couple won't find success as a duo until they embrace change.

Meghan is set to charm viewers with her new Netflix show 'With Love, Meghan', launching on January 15. The "inspiring" series will delve into the joys of cooking, featuring "practical how-to's" and "conversation with friends".

The Sussexes continue their Netflix journey with 'With Love, Meghan', adding to their portfolio that includes 'Harry and Meghan', 'Heart Of Invictus', 'Live to Lead', and 'Polo', as part of their whopping £80million deal inked in 2020.

Victoria Coren Mitchell, famed for hosting Only Connect, has expressed her views in a recent column, acknowledging that while Netflix might be "worried" about its investment in the Sussexes, Meghan remains "box-office gold" and "astonishingly interesting". Yet, she believes that fame isn't quite the right fit for Harry, which makes her worry that the pair are only "half doing what they wanted" post-royal life.

In her Telegraph piece, Victoria penned: "Unfortunately, that means their performances on screen are inevitably uncomfortable. Nobody ever won a reality TV contest by pretending to be someone they're not.", reports the Express.

"Viewers can smell it. When being filmed, Harry feigns a voluntary relationship with the camera and Meghan feigns an equivocal one, and until that changes they will never find the format that works for them."

Victoria lauded Meghan as "compellingly watchable" but pointed out that Harry is quite the opposite, which creates a jarring dynamic when the pair are on-screen together.

The Sussexes' previous project, Polo, was met with a barrage of negative feedback last year, including scathing remarks from a former polo-playing mate of Harry's who dismissed the show as "tacky and cringey".

The Telegraph described Polo as a "tedious inside-look" at the sport, and the Guardian had previously blasted polo as the "stupidest, most obnoxious sport known to humanity".

On a different note, the official blurb for With Love, Meghan reveals that the Duchess will be sharing her "personal tips and tricks", promoting a spirit of "embracing playfulness over perfection".

It states: "She and her guests roll up their sleeves in the kitchen, the garden, and beyond, and invite you to do the same."

Back in December 2024, royal expert Emily Andrews weighed in on the topic of Harry and Meghan's Netflix deal as the contract is set to end this year, claiming that the content they've produced so far isn't commercially viable.

Emily wrote in Woman magazine: "Commercially speaking, what's worked so far for Harry and Meghan is anything that closely involves their own lives (and some would say, spilling the tea). When they step back, their content tends to fail."
