Strictly Come Dancing star Jowita Przystal has issued a cryptic message about her ‘challenging’ year as she gave thanks to unnamed ‘guardian angels’.

Fans rushed to show their support to the Polish Strictly pro dancer after the unusual end of year message posted this morning.

Jowita, who went deep into the 2024 series of Strictly with celebrity partner and reality TV star Pete Wicks, posted a long message in which she talked about ‘bad’ memories and ‘lessons’, without making explicit exactly what went so wrong in the past year.

But Jowita did admit she was grateful for 2024 ‘despite everything’.

Jowita posted with a highlights reel on her Instagram: “2024…You have challenged me a lot... Despite everything I’m grateful for you. You taught me to always stay strong, to fight my fears, to find happiness again and to see my self worth.

“I know that I’m sharing most of the good memories here, but usually we don’t wanna keep those bad ones.

“Thank you for all the lessons, there’s still way more to learn and experience… but I’m ready. I’m ready to live, to love, laugh and, of course, dance.”

She continued: “This year was about my guardian angels. And I’ll be forever grateful for you. You showed me love, support, kindness and you pushed me to be the best version of myself. Thank you. You didn’t let me give up. I love you. #bye2024.”

Strictly 2024 contestant Tasha Ghouri left her support as she posted four red heart emojis in the comments on the post.

And fans issued similar sentiments as @jowitasdowden said: “So proud of you. Can’t wait to be supporting you for the 5th year. Always in your corner, love you so so much.”

@deb.50h13 said: “Jowita, you are a lovely lady in every way. I wish you all the luck and happiness for 2025 xx.”

@ourgodsforabode_ said: “Beautiful inside and out. Happy new year Jowita.”

@stevomosco said: “Happy new year, you’re a shining light, 2025 is going to be epic for you.”

Rumours swirled in December that Jowita was dating fellow Strictly pro Vito Coppola.

The Italian stallion, 32, had been paired with Miranda actress Sarah Hadland, 53, in the 2024 series and the pair made it all the way to the final.

After a difficult year for Strictly - which saw accusations of abuse behind-the-scenes and lower than usual ratings - Jowita went on to defend the show and it's place in her heart. She wrote: "Congratulations to all finalists, you should be so proud of yourselves. It was a pure joy watching you all dance!"

She added: "Last night was very emotional… and just reassured me why I do what I do. @bbcstrictly creates magic, dancing connects people and I feel grateful I can be part of it."
