Keisha Buchanan has revealed her near-death experience after being involved in a horror car crash.
The Sugababes singer, 40, blacked out at the wheel during the terrifying experience. She has decided to open up to fans about the incident, which happened last year. Keisha reflected on the past 12 months and thought it was time to share her car crash with her followers.
She posted a photo from the scene, which showed a smashed telephone box and a police car with its blue lights flashing. Keisha shared: "This time last year I blacked out at the wheel… Thank you Jesus for my life. Thankful for another year… will speak more on the cause behind the black out another time. Just happy to be here.”
The singer was part of the original Sugababes lineup alongside Mutya Buena and Siobhán Donaghy when she was just 13-years-old. She joined the band in 1998 and went on to have huge success. However, things came crashing down for Keisha in 2009 when she was dumped from the group by text. She recently admitted she is “still confused by some of the things that happened during that time”.

Final band member Jade Ewen went on to replace Keisha - and the group disbanded soon after. Reflecting on the moment she was axed from the band, Keisha told The Receipts Podcast: "I didn't leave. I was replaced. I got a text message. Well, they told me that the band had disbanded, they said they didn't want to continue."
She continued: "I was in LA because we were about to shoot the video. When I got back, I will never forget, I saw this paparazzi, and I was like, 'Who are they for? What's happening?' He said, 'Well, the front of the newspaper'." The stunned podcast host then said: "So, you've basically been axed out of your own group, no one really told you and then on top of it, the narrative was that it was almost your fault for on top of it?" Keisha replied: "Yeah, that was really difficult."
This year, the Sugababes saw a feud erupt when two of the original members were asked in an interview who was the best version of the group. The original members decided to reunite and tour across the UK but the former members wanted to also follow suit - under the same name. Appearing on Capital Breakfast, the original members were asked who was the best version of the hit-making pop group throughout its evolution.
Mutya simply said: "The first one." Siobhan then added: "I think the thing is we started it when we were young teenagers, and I think there'll always be something about the Sugababes that is this for us. It's where it started and it is the essence of what it is." Mutya added: "It's our baby."
