Lindsay Hubbard doesn’t see anything wrong with using her bun in the oven to make a little extra dough (okay, a LOT of extra dough).
When the Summer House star announced she was pregnant with her daughter Gemma Britt Kufe, lots of fans noticed — and criticized — her Instagram post doubling as an ad. She used the opportunity of making her pregnancy announcement a paid partnership with Clear Blue pregnancy tests. See for yourself (below):
She got plenty of flack for that. But now she’s defending her capitalist instincts!

On Jason Tartick‘s Monday episode of his Trading Secrets podcast, she said she was going to make the post anyway — so why not monetize:
“People were very torn up about this. They were like, ‘I can’t believe she monetized her pregnancy announcement.’ And it’s like, why not? I’m gonna make the announcement anyway, why not make money from it?”
In fact, she revealed how much she made from these social media ads this year! While getting pregnant costs other women thousands of dollars, she actually made $100,000 last year! Whoa! The reality TV star also said she was the one to reach out to the brand and ask them for a partnership — not the other way around:
“I used Clearblue, I used the digital test — that was the test I used back in April when I found out I was pregnant. So why not go to them and say, ‘Hey, I used your test, I’m about to announce my pregnancy, do you want to sponsor this?’ … This is how I’m making my money.”
Jason also added the money made was “for the child” either way. We mean, he’s right — that’s one hell of a start to a college fund.
