Sunrise’s Nat and Shirvo return to Brekky Central as they reveal how they spent their Christmas break

Sunrise’s Natalie Barr and Matt Shirvington are back.

The presenters returned to Brekky Central on Monday, as they welcomed back viewers to 2025.

The energetic pair looked well-rested as they spoke of their holidays.

“It’s our first day of the year — sorry if you’ve been working straight through,” Barr joked, sitting alongside Shirvo.

“Will you say ‘welcome back to me’?’’ Shirvo asked, before quickly replying: “Welcome back to you, Nat!”

The presenters then revealed how they spent their holidays.

“How was your break?” Shirvo asked.

“Great! Family, beach, a bit of wine,“ Barr said.

“That sounds like Western Australia summed up — tick, tick, tick, beach, wine, family,” Shirvo said.

Shirvo then shared how he spent the holidays.

“Yeah, great, stayed around here, in Australia, spent a good bit of time with the family, it was great,” Shirvo said, looking relaxed.

“Really good. Went down to the beach. All those bits and pieces.”

Barr and Shirvo said they were thrilled to be back on the show and thanked loyal viewers for joining them.

Elsewhere, weatherman Sam Mac celebrated his birthday.

“Happy birthday, It is your birthday today. We won’t say how old you are,” Shirvo joked.

“Wow, when you put it like that, I’m really old. I’m surrounded by the sweet waft of elephant dung. It’s been a great morning.”
