Superstar Billie Eilish says she loves hearing her name in a Scottish accent and can’t wait for fans to scream it when she plays two huge gigs in Glasgow this summer.

The 23-year-old singer will take to the stage at the Hydro as part of a world tour and also admitted she’d love to have time to trace her ancestors.

Billie has Scottish roots from her actress and actor mum Maggie Baird and Irish family connections from her dad Patrick O’Connell, also an actor.

She told the Sunday Mail: “My parents have told me about my Scottish and Irish roots, but I don’t really know much more than that.

“It would be cool to find out more.

“I love being in Scotland and I just want to have the best time with my fans.

“The Scottish accent is beautiful, one of my favourite things when I am over there is hearing people say my name in the Scottish accent.

“So in advance please say my name.”

Billie Eilish will play two shows at the Hydro in Glasgow next year as part of her world tour.

Tickets for Billie’s Hydro gig on Monday and Tuesday, July 7 and 8 are already on sale following the release of her celebrated third studio album, Hit Me Hard and Soft.

It was written by Billie Eilish and Finneas, her brother and long-time collaborator, who also produced the album.

The massive tour will kick off in September 2024 and will visit Europe, America, The United Kingdom, Ireland, and Australia.

Billie famously sang the title theme for the 2020 James Bond film, No Time to Die, and she says its Bond actor Daniel Craig will always be her favourite in the role ahead of Scot, Sean Connery.

She said: “I love Daniel – so for me he is always going to be number one Bond – no matter who comes next.

“Sean Connery was a great Bond though.

“Let's say he is in my top two.”

And, as Billie was brought up in a place in Los Angeles called Highland Park, she said she’d be happy to sample the whisky of the same name.

The Birds of a Feather singer said: “After my performances in Scotland we are going to have to fly straight to London – so there wont be much opportunity for much downtime.

“It’s a shame because from what I have seen on TV the Highlands look amazing but if anybody wants to leave me a bottle of whisky in my dressing room you wont hear any complaints from me.”
