‘Survivor’ Live Blog: Which Season 47 Castaway Will Be Voted Out After Last Week’s Epic Blindside?

1 week ago 2

After being completely blindsided by a split vote and Sierra’s eventual elimination on last week’s episode of Survivor, Sam knew he had to fight hard to stay in the game. The backstabbing continued during the Wednesday, September 13, episode.

Andy and Rachel Team Up on ‘Survivor’

The original Gata tribe was basically dismantled since Andy teamed up with Lavo and Tuku to target Sam and Sierra, leaving Sam and Rachel as the remaining two on the bottom. Andy did damage control, though, and told Sam that he was the one who made sure it was Sierra who went home. “I blindsided you, but I want you here,” Andy assured his former ally.

Rachel put her own work in by assuring Andy that she never wanted to target him on Gata — it was always Sierra. They made a plan to finally work together, despite Andy previously blindsiding Rachel at two tribal councils. The duo brought up Kyle’s name as a target since he’s such a challenge threat, and Rachel pointed out that even his fellow former Tuku members Sue and Caroline had been wanting to get Kyle out.

Meanwhile, OG Lavo members Genevieve, Sol and Teeny tried to smooth things over with Sam after choosing to team up with Tuku instead of Gata. Although Sam still had revenge against them on his mind, he was willing to hear them out for the sake of his game. The group mentioned targeting Gabe.

Who Won the Immunity Challenge on ‘Survivor’ Season 47, Episode 9?

Ahead of the immunity challenge, the players were tasked with breaking off into five pairs. Sam immediately chose Andy, with the hopes that he’d be able to beat him if they ended up having to do something against each other in the second part of the challenge. Kyle had the same thought when he asked to pair up with Gabe. The rest of the pairs were Sue and Genevieve, Caroline and Rachel, and Sol and Teeny.

The challenge was split into obstacle courses in different stages. The last two pairs to complete the first stage were out. After the second stage, only two pairs moved on. At that point, it became an individual challenge between the four remaining players, who all got to go on the reward, but then had to compete against each other. They had to stand on tiny footholds for as long as they could, with the last one standing winning the challenge.

Jeff Probst also threw in another twist, though — the bottom two pairs in the first stage would lose their vote and have to go on a journey to try and earn it back. Sam/Andy and Rachel/Caroline were the first two pairs out.
