Swinging Mormon TikToker Makenna Gibbons Claims Ex Did More Than Cheat -- He Lied & Told His Work She DIED! WTF!

This story from one of the other moms involved in the Mormon swinging scandal is absolutely WILD!

The Background

Perezcious readers most likely know by now what happened two years ago in the MomTok community on TikTok, but here is a quick refresher for the folks just catching up. In 2022, a Mormon wife named Taylor Frankie Paul revealed she was soft swinging with other mommy influencers in her community. She called it “soft” swinging because they hooked up with each other’s husbands as in hardcore making out — but the rule was they did not have penetrative sex. Basically, everything else was allowed except the actual deed. Religion intact! LOLz!

S**t then hit the fan when Taylor broke the rules and fully cheated on her husband, Tate Paul, with one of the other men. She admitted to having an “emotional affair” with the guy — and having full sex with him… once. Afterward, the arrangement came to an end, along with the reality star’s marriage to Tate — and several other marriages. It was a divorce debacle! And it all led to some of the MomTokers landing a hit reality show on Hulu called The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.

Taylor never revealed the identity of the other husband she cheated with. However, rumors swirled on the internet back then that she hooked up with Brayden Rowley, the husband of Makenna Gibbons. What fueled the rumors? Brayden and Makenna also broke up in 2022. Mm-hm. And Makenna is notably not on Mormon Wives.

As we mentioned, no one involved ever confirmed the speculation. But now, Makenna is ready to tell her story about everything that happened! Brace yourselves for crazy details, you guys! It turns out there was a lot more going on behind the scenes of that marriage than just soft swinging. The reasons they broke up are… Honestly, you just have to read this insanity…

The Big Lie

Last Thursday, Kenna posted a video to TikTok to talk about her experiences with Brayden during their marriage — and what she had to say was shocking. Kicking it off, she explained that right after they married in December 2015, they got into their “first disagreement.” Over what? He decided not to enroll in school. It wasn’t the fact that Brayden was not taking classes anymore that upset her. No, she said she was completely OK with the decision. What she had an issue with is that he somehow failed to tell her about it! She only “found out about that decision” later! What!

It was a huge red flag for Makenna! These are the kinds of things you tell your wife! And that was only the start of the questionable behavior from Brayden…

That same year, the TikToker claims, her husband was not receiving his paychecks for a few months. When Brayden was pressed about the situation, he repeatedly “lied” about it. Prepare for the massive disturbing bombshell with this next part! Makenna claims she eventually found out Brayden had been lying to his work. He made them believe she had DIED and that “they needed to get a life insurance policy in order.”

We’re sorry… WHAT THE F**K!?!? This sounds like the first act of a Lifetime movie where the wife discovers her husband’s plan to murder her! Seriously, WTF!

WTF…

Kenna didn’t give any more details in that first post, but social media users naturally could not move past the accusation that Brayden said she passed away when she was very much alive and well! They wanted to know more, and she delivered days later.

On Monday, Makenna posted a follow-up video to clarify a few things in her story. According to the momma, when it comes to the paychecks debacle, here was the lie Brayden told her: He said there was an issue with the payroll company. Uh huh. Ladies, take note. Then, three weeks before she found out the truth about the whole situation, she said he was sent “condolence flowers.” You would think he’d have to come clean at that point, right? But you’d be wrong! This guy just kept weaving the tangled web of deceit even more…

When Makenna asked about the bouquet, Brayden’s explanation? He said another guy on his team had the same name with a wife who was not doing well, and the flowers were just sent to the wrong house. OMG. The truth always comes out, though. And it did weeks later.

The Call

Makenna recalled she received a call from his work and answered it, expecting it to be Brayden. Instead, it was HR, and they asked for him. Uh oh. She continued:

“And I was like, ‘Oh, this is his wife. How can I help you?’ And they asked for my name, and I stated it. I could hear the confusion on the other end. They’re like, ‘Ma’am, you need to talk to your husband. We were calling to start life insurance paperwork for you.”

Makenna mentioned there was another man with the same name as Brayden on his team with a sick wife, and this must be a mix-up. The HR person insisted it was not. They were starting paperwork for her! Whoa. Makenna later called her father and detailed the situation to him. At first, her dad insisted they “don’t have any reason not to trust him.” Yeesh. Thankfully he agreed to “look into it” just to be safe — notably before approaching Brayden. Good thinking — you’d probably just get more lies. Well, Dad looked into it, and he did not like what he found out!

The Danger

Days later, the content creator receives a call from her dad to reach out to her mom right away. However, Makenna decided to wait until her ex-husband left their home for work before doing so. The wait caused her father to go into panic mode, though. He stormed into the house 30 minutes later, and she knew “there’s something more going on.” And boy was there!

Kenna’s father gave Brayden the chance to come “clean” about the situation, but he didn’t. So he told his daughter to pack up her things and get out. That’s when she discovered what Brayden had told his company. She was dead. He told them she’d died. The reason he wasn’t receiving paychecks was because he took a “family leave” following her fake death.

That is so beyond messed up. WTF. Why would Brayden lie about something like that? Of course, there were a lot of theories swirling around online — like he was planning to kill her. Lifetime movie. Told you. So scary. Given how her dad reacted, we wouldn’t be surprised if he was for real worried about it!

However, Kenna does not think that’s why Brayden started this crazy lie. She explained:

“My dad had just figured out his daughter was reported dead to a company. Yes, he was terrified for my safety, so that’s why he had to rip me out of there. What I believe happened is that my ex started in on a lie because he wasn’t performing at work, and the lie grew to be so big that he didn’t know what to do with it. And that’s why this all happened. To clarify, I never felt in physical harm or that my ex was going to [kill] me.”

We don’t blame her dad! If that was our kid and we just found out her husband lied that she was dead and tried to take out life insurance, we would get her the heck out of there, too! As for Brayden? You don’t lie about your wife dying just because you’re failing at your job. This was disgusting. NO WONDER THEY GOT A DIVORCE! Watch her videos (below):

You shouldn’t have to ask your partner for the truth, it’s the bare minimum expectation in any relationship. So question to ask yourself: when you think of your significant other, do you innately trust them?

At this time, Brayden has not responded to Kenna’s claims. However, his family has. His mom, Chris Rowley, commented on her first video to DEFEND him:

“It’s time to move on. You are not helping anyone but you are hurting your son. Sad”

What is with these moms defending their own son’s horrible actions?! Especially when your son LIED ABOUT HIS WIFE DYING! How about sticking by your former daughter-in-law and telling your son how he shouldn’t have hurt his own family with these lies instead! That’s how you get sociopathic nonsense like this in the first place!

And that’s not all. Brayden’s alleged new girlfriend Michaela Harrison reacted in the comments, saying:

“Wait, why did you delete your first video if your just going to share the same bs a second time?”

And it gets even crazier from here! Chris then seemingly made a burner profile to continue to troll Kenna’s video! The TikTok star wrote in the comments:

“So we’re clear, this is my ex mother in law {we’ve sent tik toks, I know your username. I understand you don’t agree with me sharing my side, but adding to hate comments?”

Chris then responded from the burner account:

“No HATE just speaking ‘my truth’. Time to move on and focus on your new relationship and the ONLY innocent one in all of this. Mistakes were made on ALL sides. But dredging up the past will only bite.”
