Taylor Swift fans discover secret message in her outfit for night out with Travis Kelce in NY

Taylor Swift's devoted fans believe they have uncovered another subtle hint from the popstar as to her political positions, as she heads out for date night in New York City along with the Kansas City Chiefs' Travis Kelce.

The 35-year-old singer wore a Stella McCartney wool dinner jacket that was adorned by crystal decorations around the hem, which she partnered with a black minidress and diamond-patterned tights and Marc Jacobs boots.

But the source of attention for the eagle-eyed fans was her Versace Crystal La Medusa Mini Bag, which fans believe is a message to her support of feminism through the connotations of the Greek mythological entity.

Medusa is a gorgon recognised with snakes for hair, and is known for her anger and rage at the world. She was cursed by Athena to turn any man she looks at into stone, before being eventually killed by Perseus.

Fans believe that the handbag could be a nod to 3,000-year-old story, and Swift's own politics following her very public endorsement of Kamala Harris in the 2024 United States' presidential election.

It could also be connected to her songs, which she uses as mediums to criticize her past partners in tracks such as All Too Well, I Knew You Were Trouble and Dear John, as well as many more.

Nonetheless, Swift is yet to confirm why she chose the accessory and seemed to enjoy her night in NYC as she headed for Japanese food with Kelce, along with Jack Antonoff and Margaret Qualley in a double-date.

Things seem good for the NFL star and the billionaire singer, who now find themselves almost constantly dodging questions of when they're going to get married following a successful 16 months of dating.

Why was Medusa cursed?

Medusa is synonymous for her ugliness, serpentine hair and the curse of freezing anyone to stone, before she is eventually tricked by Perseus to look at her own reflection and subsequently beheaded.

According to the Roman peot Ovid, Medusa was actually beautiful but upon breaking a vow of celibacy with Poseidon in a temple devoted to Athena, she was cursed by the Goddess and forced to walk the Earth with the burden.

When she is slain by Perseus after he tricks her with a reflective shield given to him by Athena, it's said that Pegasus and Chrysaor burst from her corpse. Medusa remains one of the most famous Ancient Greek myths.
