Taylor Swift has given away a staggering $197 million (£154 million) in bonuses to the people that worked with her on her record breaking Eras World Tour.

On Sunday night, the 34-year-old American music superstar concluded her two-year-long Eras Tour at the BC Place Stadium in Vancouver, Canada. The performance brought to a close her epic run of concerts that began way back in March 2023 and saw her play to audiences across 149 performances.

Throughout her show, the star sold an avalanche of merchandise - including hotly desired friendship bracelets - which helped her acquire a staggering $2 billion (£1.56 billion) from the tour. And it seems Taylor was more than happy to spread the joy as she has reportedly handed out almost $200 million (£156 million) in bonuses to her crew.

While on the road, the Purple Haze singer is said to have topped up the wages of the people working behind-the-scenes and even on stage with extra payments. This was on top of the salaries already being commanded by the crew working on the tour, and taking a slice out of her huge profits.

People has claimed the star gave the huge payouts to her crew. They reported on Monday: "Over the past two years, Swift gave out $197 million in bonuses to everyone working on her tour — including truck drivers, caterers, instrument techs, merch team, lighting, sound, production staff and assistants, carpenters, dancers, band, security, choreographers, pyrotechnics, riggers, hair, make-up, wardrobe, physical therapists and video team."

Addressing her fans as her final show began, Taylor declared: "We have toured the entire world. We have had so many adventures. It has been the most exciting, powerful, electrifying, intense, most challenging thing I've ever done in my entire life.” And ahead of taking her final bow, she decreed: “I want to thank every single one of you for being a part of the most thrilling chapter of my entire life to date — my beloved Eras Tour.”

While the tour was a roaring success, it was also struck by a terrifying terrorist attack plot which caused three nights in Vienna, Austria, to be cancelled. The plot was foiled the day before jihadists planned to use bombs, knives and a car to murder as many concert goers as they could in the Austrian capital - with authorities making a number of arrests including a 19-year-old male, who was a dual citizen of Austria and North Macedonia.

Addressing the need to cancel the shows that were planned for August 8-10, the Cruel Summer singer said: "Having our Vienna shows cancelled was devastating. The reason for the cancellations filled me with a new sense of fear, and a tremendous amount of guilt because so many people had planned on coming to those shows.” She went on to thank authorities, and revealed why she delayed making a statement about her cancelled dates added: "Let me be very clear: I am not going to speak about something publicly if I think doing so might provoke those who would want to harm the fans who come to my shows."
