Taylor Swift signed off her from record-breaking Eras Tour on Sunday night in Vancouver, Canada, and she did by adding a new wrinkle to her set.
The 34-year-old gave a special nod to fans while performing "Long Live" during her acoustic set as she looks to hold on to the memories of the almost two-year tour.
Swift opted to change the lyrics of the track from "It was the end of a decade / But the start of an age," to "It was the end of an era / But the start of an age."
The performance was given even more importance as Taylor decided to mash up the song, which she has regularly dedicated to fans, with The Tortured Poets Department's "The Manuscript" and Reputations's "New Year's Day".
Each song spoke to the end of the tour as Taylor included lines like "There's glitter on the floor after the party" and "The only thing that's left is the manuscript, one last souvenir from my trip to your shores / Now and then I reread the manuscript, but the story isn't mine anymore."
Taylor mindful of this moment in her life
While Taylor hasn't spoken yet on what the end of the Eras Tour, which began in March 2023, means to her, she has spoken about the importance of this moment in her life.
"This is the proudest and happiest I've ever felt, and the most creatively fulfilled and free I've ever been," Taylor said during a 2023 interview with Time,
"I know I'm going on that stage whether I'm sick, injured, heartbroken, uncomfortable, or stressed. That's part of my identity as a human being now."
She also noted how the end of this chapter of her career was something she never really considered.
"It's taken over everything," she said while performing in Liverpool this past summer.
"I think I once had hobbies, but I don't know what they are anymore, because all I do when I'm not onstage is sit at home and try to think of clever acoustic song mashups, and think about what you might want to hear."
