Taylor Swift's 'excruciating' struggle that Travis Kelce 'thinks about all the time'

Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce has opened up about his relationship with Taylor Swift and has revealed the "excruciating" thing she did that he now thinks about "all the time"

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce aren’t afraid of publicly showing their love for one another - and the American football star has just revealed one thing about Taylor that he thinks about “all the time”.

Since confirming their relationship in the autumn of 2023, the pair, both 35, have become one of the biggest it-couples in the world. From meeting members of the Royal Family to taking to the stage together at Wembley Stadium, the Love Story singer and Kansas City Chiefs player’s romance could rival the most romantic of rom-coms.

Now, in a heartwarming new update, Travis has gushed over his girlfriend and has praised the Shake It Off songstress for her incredible work ethic. With Taylor’s Eras Tour seeing her play 149 shows in a year and a half, the singer is known for her commitment to her craft - and it’s something Travis adores.

“What I saw on that [Eras Tour] last year was pretty remarkable,” he said ahead of the Super Bowl when asked about her dedication to music. “To see the week in, week out, travelling from one country to the next, how excruciating it is on her body and on her mind.”

He continued: “It's not just her, it was her entire tour. It was the dancers, it was the band, the singers, it was everybody involved.

“It was an absolute machine, and it was something I could admire watching, and I think about it all the time.”

This isn’t the first time that the sportsman has shown his affection for Taylor. During an appearance on the The Stephen A. Smith Show last month he opened up about how his relationship had given him all the support he could need to pursue his dreams.

“I think personally that’s the beauty of being in a really strong relationship is that you get that support to be able to focus on your craft, focus on being the best version of you. You know, that’s why I wanted to be at the concerts, support her and being there for her, making sure she feels comfortable and supported in everything she’s doing in life,” he explained.

“I’m as focused as I’ve ever been on my job and being the best player I can possibly be week in and week out for this team. It’s because I don’t have to worry about things off the field.”

And it’s clear that Travis is extremely supportive of Taylor’s chart-topping career too. Over the past year he was spotted cheering her on at multiple stops on the Eras Tour and he even joined her on stage in a top hat and tailcoat for a portion of one of her shows at the iconic Wembley Stadium.

Addressing the cameo on his New Heights podcast, Travis said that “you can do no wrong when Taylor is on stage”, though revealed one thought that was running through his mind. “The one thing I told myself was ‘Do not drop the baby’. ‘Do not drop Taylor on your way over to the damn couch’,” he admitted.

Meanwhile Taylor has also opened up about their relationship. During an interview with Time magazine in December 2023, the You Belong With Me singer recalled how their relationship had started.

“This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell,” she said. “We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other. By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple.”

She also thanked him last year when she scooped the Video of the Year Award for her song Fortnight at the MTV VMAs where she scooped the Video of the Year Award. “The thing is that this video seems very sad when you watch it, but it actually was like the most fun video to make. And something that I’ll always remember is that when I would finish a take and I’d say cut, and we’d be done with that take,” she said as she collected the award.

“There would be someone, like, cheering, ‘Wooo,’ like from across the studio where we were shooting it, and that one person was my boyfriend, Travis. Everything this man touches turns to happiness and fun and magic. So I want to thank him for adding that to our shoot because I will always remember that.”
