It has been described as the antagonist of ultra-violent slasher films and provided so much gore even the French issued a rare ban for use of 'extreme' violence.
But for one star of the Terrifier 3, the gore fest has helped propel him into the record books - even if he did have to step out of a particularly gruesome scene. Terrifier 3 sees Art the clown unleash chaos on the unsuspecting residents of Miles County during the festive period.
Speaking exclusively to the Mirror about his Terrifier performance, Daniel Roebuck, who starred as a Santa Claus impersonator in the horror, labelled the movie "crazy as s***". He revealed how one of his scenes was so graphic they had to complete it without him.
Daniel said of his death scene after Art the clown met him at a bar: "It got to the point where I was excused and my murder took part by using a series of other versions of me that stood in for me."

Because when you get shot, you're like, 'oh' but they're like, 'all right, and now we're gonna chip off your face. Dan, could you step out of the shot' and they push in another version of you."
For Daniel, his role on Terrifier 3 was more than just a fun-filled part, though. It also meant the horror fanatic wrote his name in the history books as he played the role of Father Christmas in two separate movies released at the same time. However, it wasn't planned to all be released at the same time - while also taking on the role of Scrooge in theatre. He joked: "I can't escape Christmas this year."

No actor has ever played Santa Claus in two movies that came out at the exact same time. And not only did they come out at the exact same time, they're starting to play them back to back at drive ins."

And to complete a hat-trick of festive roles, Daniel is also appearing as Scrooge in A Christmas Carol at the Andy Griffith Playhouse in North Carolina this month, making it a historical feat.

As well as going bigger in theatre next year with his Saint Nick of Bethlehem film - which he created with the A Channel of Peace organisation, he is also getting ready to release The Hail Mary and has a number of other productions in the works.
