Christmas is a frantic time for many people with buying presents, cooking delicious food and organising who is going to sit where on the big day.

As many people are aware, the supermarkets differ when it comes to opening times during the festive period.

However, we have rounded up the supermarkets opening and closing times over Christmas and the New Year.

The retailers we have looked at include Asda, Iceland, Tesco, Aldi, Lidl, Waitrose, M&S, Sainsbury's and Morrisons.

For those who like to do their food shopping at the last minute, it is handy to make a note of where will be open near you. However, do check the local supermarket just in case times alter and it does depend on the location.
