2024 has been one for the books.
From Taylor Swift's record-breaking Eras Tour heading Down Under to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, it's been a big 12 months to say the least.
We've seen everything from memorable press tours to exciting celebrity engagements, weddings and baby news.
On the flip side, it's also been a year where we've said goodbye to some of our favourite celebrity couples and lost some big stars.

February: Eras Tour comes to Australia
After nearly a year on the road with her global Eras Tour, Swift headed Down Under in February for seven sold-out shows across Australia.
The pop star performed to 96,000 fans each night for three shows in Melbourne – a personal record for Swift.
The star's record-breaking tour saw Aussies embrace Swiftmania to the fulll with lots of friendship bracelets traded and many without tickets even listening outside the stadiums in a phenomenon that became known as 'Taylor-gating'.
Swift's boyfriend Travis Kelce even made an appearance in the crowd on night one of her Sydney show.

Taylor Swift's relationship with Travis Kelce
Swift's relationship with NFL star Travis Kelce has made headlines left, right and centre this year.
The pair first went public with their relationship at a Kansas City Chiefs game in September 2023.
Over the last 12 months, Swift has cheered on her beau to Super Bowl victory, they've attended galas and tennis matches together, and Kelce even made his stage debut at Swift's Eras Tour show in London.

March 14: Olivia Munn reveals breast cancer diagnosis
Olivia Munn shocked fans around the world when she revealed a secret health battle in an emotional social media post.
On March 14, Munn shared on Instagram that she had been battling an aggressive and fast-growing form of breast cancer for 10 months.
"I hope by sharing this it will help others find comfort, inspiration and support on their own journey," she wrote.

April 5: Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher split
While it was a year of love, there were also some notable splits in Hollywood.
One of the most shocking was Aussie actress Isla Fisher and Sacha Baron Cohen, who separated after 20 years and three kids together.
"After a long tennis match lasting over twenty years, we are finally putting our racquets down," they announced the on their Instagram stories on April 5 with a photo of them both in tennis gear.

June: Charli XCX takes over with viral album Brat
The year brought some great music to the scene, but few had quite the pop culture impact as Brat by English star Charli XCX.
Known for its iconic green cover art and songs like 360 and Apple, Brat launched Charli XCX to a new level of superstardom.
The term 'brat' took over world thanks to the album.

The rise of the pop girls
Along with Charli XCX, the year saw a new wave of pop stars really begin to shine.
Chappell Roan (left) became a standout star of the year, with her 2023 album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess charting with viral singles like Good Luck, Babe! and Hot to Go!
It was an equally big year for Sabrina Carpenter, who kicked off 2024 as an opener on Taylor Swift's Australian Eras Tour before releasing her wildly popular album Short n' Sweet.
Towards the end of the year, the latest star who seems to be having her moment is Gracie Abrams (right) thanks to her hit song That's So True.

June 20: Donald Sutherland dies
2024 was also a year where we said goodbye to some of our favourite stars.
Donald Sutherland, star of M*A*S*H and The Hunger Games franchise, died on June 20 at aged 88, his agency announced in a statement.
"With a heavy heart, I tell you that my father, Donald Sutherland, has passed away," his son, actor Kiefer Sutherland confirmed on social media.

July 13: Richard Simmons dies
A few weeks later, we said farewell to fitness guru Richard Simmons.
Simmons died aged 76 on July 13.
His brother Lenny Simmons later confirmed the star's cause of death was accidental.
"The coroner informed Lenny that Richard's death was accidental due to complications from recent falls and heart disease as a contributing factor," family spokesperson Tom Estey said in a statement released to People magazine.

July 13: Shannen Doherty dies
In July, Charmed and 90210 star Shannen Doherty died aged 53 after a battle with cancer.
"It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of actress Shannen Doherty. On Saturday, July 13, she lost her battle with cancer after many years of fighting the disease," her publicist announced.

July 27: Celine Dion performs at the Olympics
The 2024 Paris Olympic Games was stacked with celebrity guests.
But arguably the most memorable was Céline Dion, who gave a surprise opening ceremony performance of Hymne A L'Amour.
The singer's performance marked her first since taking a break from the stage amid her battle with Stiff Person Syndrome.

July/ August: Snoop Dogg becomes an unexpected Olympic hero
Who can forget Snoop Dogg taking over the 2024 Olympics?
The rapper became the king of hilarious and meme-worthy reactions at the games, being pictured in the crowd at a variety of sports in all kinds of iconic sportswear.
Snoop Dogg was also one of the final torchbearers for the Paris Games.

August 11: Tom Cruise does a stunt to close the Olympics
To wrap up the Paris Olympic Games and get us excited for the 2028 iteration in Los Angeles, Tom Cruise pulled off an impressive stunt at the closing ceremony, worthy of a Mission Impossible movie.
The Top Gun star delighted fans around the world when he descended from the roof of the Stade de France stadium on a harness to land among the athletes.
"Thank you, Paris! Now off to LA," Cruise wrote along with a selfie after his cameo.

July/ August: Deadpool & Wolverine and It Ends With Us
After the success of Barbenheimer in 2023, there's been a couple of press tours that have tried to replicate the iconic Barbie and Oppenheimer clash.
In July, Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds' highly anticipated Deadpool and Wolverine came out.
Here the stars are pictured with model Gigi Hadid and Reynolds' wife Blake Lively at the world premiere in New York City.
But at the same time the action flick came out, Lively was busy promoting her own 'rom-com'.

It Ends With Us, based on the book of the same name and starring Lively as leading lady Lily Bloom, came out early August – not far behind Wolverine and Deadpool.
After attending the superhero film's premiere, Lively in return brought her husband and Jackman along to the premiere of her movie in Lincoln Square.

August 20: Jennifer Lopez files for divorce
After two years of marriage, 'Bennifer' was no more.
Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce from Ben Affleck on August 20 – the date of their second wedding anniversary.
According to several outlets, their official date of separation was listed as April 26.

August 24: Justin Bieber and Hailey Bieber welcome first child
In happier news, just a few days later, singer Justin Bieber and his wife Hailey (nee Baldwin) announced they had welcomed their first child together!
"Welcome home Jack Blues Bieber," Justin captioned a photo of their new bub's foot.
The couple first announced they were expecting in May.

August 27: Oasis announce reunion tour
The world rejoiced when it was confirmed Oasis would be reuniting for the first time in 15 years for a special reunion tour.
Brothers and former bandmates Noel and Liam Gallagher first announced they would be hitting the road for shows across the United Kingdom in 2025.
They followed up the news in October by adding an Australian leg to their global tour.

September: Nicole Kidman's mum dies
It's been a tumultuous year for Aussie star Nicole Kidman.
In September, the star left the Venice Film Festival early after news her mother Janelle had died.
"I arrived in Venice and found out shortly after that my beautiful, brave mother, Janelle Ann Kidman has just passed," the actress said in a letter read on stage at the festival by her Babygirl director, Halina Reijn.
"I am in shock and I have to go to my family but this award is for her".

September 22: Olivia Munn and John Mulaney announce they've welcomed a second child
Munn surprised the world again in September when she announced that she and partner John Mulaney had secretly welcomed a second child via surrogate amid her breast cancer battle.
The pair, who already shared son Malcolm, had a daughter named Méi (pronounced May).
"I am so proud of my little plum, my little dragon for making the journey to be with us. My heart has exploded," Munn wrote.
Mulaney confirmed the month before in August the couple had tied the knot.
